NRG Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Symposium

Calling all APPs! We are pleased to announce our NRG Oncology Advanced Practice Providers (APP) Symposium to be held during the NRG2025 Summer Meeting in Washington, DC on Friday, July 25, 2025, 8:15-9:45am ET. The session will also be available virtually. The goals for the session will be to identify the different roles that APPs can serve in NCI-sponsored research and elevate their involvement in clinical research at practice sites. The session chairs are Deb Bruner, Kathleen Castro, Christa Braun-Inglis, and Melyssa Foust.

NRG Oncology Protocol Support Committee (PSC) – Educational Sessions

Please be sure to sign up to attend the PSC Sessions being held during the NRG Oncology Summer Meeting in Washington, DC. The PSC will host a Continuing Education session, a Lunch and Learn and Roundtable presentations on Thursday, July 24; and a Protocol Spotlight Session (NRG-CC015 / NRG-GY036 / NRG-BR009) on Friday, July 25. Please refer to the posted flyers or agendas (login required) for more details about the PSC programing offered at #NRG2025. The PSC programming at #NRG2025 has been approved by the Virginia Nurses Association to award contact hours. The Virginia Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.



Communications & Digital Engagement Workshop

The NRG Oncology Communications Committee is pleased to announce our Communications & Digital Engagement (CDE) Workshop as part of #NRG2025. The workshop, being held as a virtual session, is scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, 1-2pm ET. Drs. Kristin Higgins and Miriam Knoll, members of the NRG Oncology Communications Committee, are the session chairs. The speakers include Dr. Patricia Ganz who will discuss the recently activated, NRG-CC015/HEAL-ABC study; Ryan Strandlund, Associate Director for ASCO’s Grassroots Advocacy for Cancer program; and Sara Rothchild, Executive Director for The Life Raft Group, which focuses on advocacy for people living with Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST), and other rare diseases.

•  We are pleased to announce the enrollment of the 100^th and 101^st patients to the HERO Study. Thank you to Northwest Cancer Center – Hobart and University of Vermont Medical Center for helping us reach this milestone!

• Reminder that this trial is open and actively enrolling patients. Helpful materials pertaining to BR008 can be found on the NRG Oncology website under Clinical Trials/NRG-BR008/Documents & Materials or on the CTSU website.

5. CANCER PREVENTION AND CONTROL

NRG-CC013: Spanish Translated Consent form, dated May 28, 2025, and CIRB approval (posted on CTSU).

6. GYNECOLOGIC

NRG-GY026: Reminder! Now accruing patients of all stages and all histologic subtypes of endometrial cancer.

NRG-GY028: Study is quickly approaching the accrual cap. Once 84 patients are enrolled, accrual will be suspended. Refer to Section 15.1 of the protocol for a more detailed description of the statistical plan.

NRG-GY031: Please note, there is an error in the section 4.2 table and the Biospecimen Collection and Submission Manual. The Part I PK collection is to be done on Cycle 1, Day 1, and Cycle 1, Day 8. This will be updated with the next amendment.

7. HEAD & NECK

NRG-HN008: Reminder! Please update treatment and AE data weekly. This is a Phase I trial and timely data submission is very important.

NRG-HN014: An updated Biospecimen Collection and Submission Manual, version date June 23, 2025, is available on CTSU. In section 3.2.2.2, Collection Time Point(s) and Biospecimen Code(s): The during treatment timepoint was clarified as applying to Arm 2.

8. VTOC TRAINING

The VTOC Webinar Training Series schedule and registration is available for NRG Oncology Research Associates working on NRG-BN014, NRG-BR009, NRG-CC003, NRG-CC005, NRG-CC011, NRG-CC013, NRG-CC014, NRG-HN001, NRG-HN002, and NRG-HN014.
