NRH Holiday Magic Christmas Tree Lighting & Family Festival
Join in the holiday spirit with family, neighbors and friends at North Richland Hills'  Holiday Magic Christmas Tree Lighting & Family Festival on Friday, December 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will take place at the NRH Centre Plaza, Stormy Plaza and NRH Library along Hawk Avenue and Grand Avenue. Admission is free. There will be a charge for some activities. Concessions and holiday gift items will be available to purchase. 

Free event parking will be at the NRH Centre at 6000 Hawk Ave., the Birdville High School parking lot at the southeast corner of Mid Cities Blvd and Hawk Ave., and NRH2O Family Water Park at 9001 Boulevard 26. Handicap Parking is located in the NRH Centre lot, 6000 Hawk Avenue. Please see our parking map for parking lot locations and directions. 

Christmas Tree Lighting & Fireworks Show
The lighting of North Richland Hills' 46-foot-tall Christmas Tree will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Stormy Plaza, just across from the NRH Library, and will be immediately followed by a dazzling fireworks display.

Visit with Santa
Children of all ages are invited to share their Christmas lists with Santa inside the Community Room at the NRH Library, starting at 6 p.m. The line for Santa will close at 8:45 p.m. Be sure to bring a camera to take your own photos!

Santa's Workshop Activities
Santa's workshop at the NRH Library will offer 14 holiday themed crafts and activities for children ages 3 and up. The cost is $3 per child. To be able to complete the crafts by 9 p.m., the line will close at 8:30 p.m. or earlier if tickets sell out. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The entrance to Santa's Workshop is through the main library doors on the west side (parking lot side) of the library. Prior to entering, please park your stroller in the book drop driveway on the west side of the building. The library entrance from Grand Avenue will not be open during this event.

Live Reindeer
Guests will have the opportunity to see a live Reindeer (Dasher) and take photos in front of the corral!

The Vinyl Stripes Concert 
The Vinyl Stripes will perform holiday hits and  and Rockabilly Surf starting at 7 p.m. on the NRH Centre's outdoor plaza. Seating will be on the lawn. Bring your friends and family, along with your lawn chairs and blankets, for a great night of music and fun.

Community Stage
Get into the holiday spirit with performances by several area children's choirs and community groups on our community stage. The community stage will be located on Grand Avenue near the Christmas Tree. View the performance schedule on our website.

Tasty Treats & Holiday Craft Vendors
A variety of tasty treats will be available for purchase. Numerous vendors  will also be selling handmade Christmas crafts and holiday gift items.  Remember to b ring cash, or you may use the ATM onsite near the west entrance to the Library. Selfie Scenes
There will be numerous photo opportunities along Hawk and Grand Avenues and inside the NRH Library. Don't forget to bring your camera to take selfies and holiday family portraits!

Run Run Rudolph 5K

Share your holiday spirit and enjoy fitness and fun at the annual Run Run Rudolph Family Fun 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, December 7. D ress in your most festive holiday attire. Your on-leash canine (limit 2) is welcome to walk with you during Run Run Rudolph which benefits the NRH Animal Adoption & Rescue Center and children's literacy programs at the NRH Library. Mayoral Red Kettle Challenge

Mayor Oscar Trevino, members of the City Council and other community volunteers will ring the bell for the Salvation Army on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The effort is part of the 2019 Mayor Red Kettle Challenge to see which area city can raise the most money.  A successful Red Kettle season greatly increases the Salvation Army's ability to meet the crisis needs of food, clothing and shelter in the community throughout the year.   Stop by any Kroger, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club or Hobby Lobby in North Richland Hills on December 14 to make a donation.
