National Academies Roundtable Features NRMN 
Investigators and Mentees

The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine held a Fellowships Roundtable to discuss issues faced by fellows ranging from undergraduates to post-doctoral scholars. 

Mentor Training Core co-Investigator, Sandra Quinn, PhD, led a panel with a talk on NRMN, with a focus on our Culturally Aware Mentoring training.

Dr. Corrine Voils has a joint position as a Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin and a Research Career Scientist at the Madison VA.  

Dr. Volis shared, "My mentoring philosophy is not to give you answers to your questions, but to give you the skills to discover your own answers."

Upcoming Opportunities with NRMN and Partners

The National Institutes of Health is offering a year-long research program for current students in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary care. Participants are matched with a research project of interest at the NIH campus in  Bethesda, Maryland. Opportunities are available in basic, clinical, or translational science.  

The Medical Research Scholars Program is open for applications until January 11, 2019. This program is sponsored by the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities.
