March is Middle Level Education Month

Each year, the Association for Middle Level Education dedicates March as the month to recognize and focus special attention on young adolescents and middle level education.  I have and continue to be proud of NRMS and our ability to exemplify the characteristics of This We Believe through our words, decisions, actions, and programs.  The skills, habits and values established during this time of your adolescent's life will have a critical, life-long influence on their development.  It is our hope as a school that our students continue to be both academically and personally successful and that we continue to be supportive of each individual child.

As always, please contact your child's teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, or me with any questions.

Important Notes:

Ohio State Tests
The Ohio State Tests will be administered this spring to our students. All students in grades 5 through 8 will take the ELA assessment between March 30 and April 27. Additionally, all students will take the math test between April 21 and May 11.  Only students in grade 5 and grade 8 will take the science test.  That testing window is the same as the math window. Students and families will receive more information from their teachers/teams regarding the specific dates of their tests in the near future.

COVID-19 Vaccine
On Monday, March 15, 2021, North Royalton City Schools' staff members will be receiving the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.  Please remember that both Monday, March 15, and Tuesday, March 16 will be asynchronous learning days.  This means that teachers will post lessons and activities in their Google Classrooms for the students to engage with on those days.  Student attendance will be taken based on the students completion of their assigned work.
