NSF Research Infrastructure Workshop

2024 NSF Research Infrastructure Workshop March 26 - 29, 2024 | Tucson, Arizona Register Here The Research Infrastructure Workshop is a collaborative forum for the research infrastructure community to share best practices and lessons learned, collect community input on new initiatives, and share project, operation and business tools and techniques.   2024 RIW sessions will include topics such as future revisions to the Research Infrastructure Guide, Facility Management, Project Management (with some PDU offerings), Operations Management, Workplace Safety, Award Management, Cyberinfrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Education and Public Outreach. For more information regarding program content, visit the draft agenda page.  Registration and Fees In-Person: The fee to attend the workshop in person for all four days is $825. This fee includes breakfast, lunch, regular refreshments, a tour (with transportation), a stargazing evening, and attendance at the workshop reception.    In-Person, Limited Attendance: For this year's event, attendees who can only attend in-person for one or two days can participate for a fee of $225 or $450, respectively. A limited attendance ticket will include virtual access to the workshop for the remaining days.    Virtual: The virtual event registration fee is $35, which covers a portion of the technology expenses for remote participation.

NSF Research Security Training

NSF Online Research Security Training Modules The U.S. National Science Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of four interactive online research security training modules, now available to researchers and institutions across the U.S. These modules are designed to facilitate principled international collaboration in an open, transparent and secure environment that safeguards the nation's research ecosystem. Fueled by the "CHIPS and Science Act of 2022," these training modules signify a major first step in reconciling the needs of the research, law enforcement and intelligence communities to pursue trusted relationships in the global research community while minimizing economic and security risks. They provide researchers with clear guidelines and effective strategies to protect against existing and emerging research security threats. The modules also reinforce NSF's commitment to President Biden's priorities to strengthen protections of U.S. government-supported research as outlined in the National Security Presidential Memorandum – 33. Module 1: Introduction to Research Security Module 2: The Importance of Disclosure Module 3: Manage and Mitigate Risk Module 4: The Importance of International Collaboration These training modules can be taken online, and users can download a completion certificate. The modules are also free to download for institutions to integrate into their learning management systems.
