May 2021
President's Message
Greetings NSHRM Members and Friends,

We Hit Platinum!
Did you hear the news? For the 5th year in a row Northshore SHRM was awarded the Excel Platinum Award for the Chapter’s accomplishments in 2020!
Although 2020 was a tough year for all, I am proud to say that Northshore SHRM came out on top AGAIN! We were hit hard by the numerous demands and changes that effected our workplaces AND we were still unstoppable. I am so thankful to be part of such an amazing Board, loyal members, hard-working volunteers, supportive business partners and dynamic speakers.
We are also excited to announce that we will be returning, once again, to the Greystone in Mandeville for our annual forum. Be sure to mark your calendar now for this in-person event on September 30th

In the meantime, we hope you will join us for on May 13th for this month’s professional development meeting at the Pontchartrain Yacht Club. This will be an important meeting on evaluating your organizations’ risk with cybersecurity.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. You may reach me at . I look forward to getting to know each of you and supporting the advancement of our profession on the Northshore.
Yours in Service,
Cecilia “CeCe” Boudreaux, SHRM-CP PHR

What’s Happening in HR!

2021 Louisiana Legislative Session

What HR Professionals need to know and how it may impact your organization.

Pursuant to my role as NSHRM Legislative Director, I have reviewed the bills pending before the Louisiana Legislature during the 2021 Regular Session (which concludes no later than June 10, 2021). The following are summaries of the official bill Digests for select bills that I believe are of interest to H.R. professionals, and their status as of April 26, 2021. Please review the bills and contact your legislature to discuss as you deem appropriate. I suggest that you particularly note House Bills 151, 245, 439, 480, and Senate Bills 7, 49, 92, 215. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, Michael Weiner, NSHRM’s Legislative Director, at or 985-875-7710. HR Professionals should contact their legislators (house and senate) and provide their thoughts on the pending legislation.
