NSU Welcomes Largest Undergraduate Class In History

NSU is bucking the national trend of declining undergraduate enrollment and just welcomed its largest incoming class in its history—during COVID-19! Unlike its counterparts locally and nationally, NSU has seen its undergraduate population increase at unprecedented rates for the past five years with 2,001 new undergraduate students beginning classes just a few weeks ago.

NSU Distinguished Alumnus from College of Computing and Engineering wins Global Award for his Pioneering Career in Cybersecurity

Dr. John “Jack” Freund ‘12 was recently honored by (ISC)², the world’s largest nonprofit association of certified cybersecurity professionals, at their 2020 (ISC)² Global Achievement Awards. This award recognizes and celebrates the most outstanding achievements by cybersecurity professionals around the world and recognizing only one honoree per region.

NSU Psychology Double Alumnus Shares Suicide Prevention Tips in Coalition with September’s National Suicide Awareness Campaign

From being in the mental health field since his start at NSU, Mark DeSantis, M.S., Psy.D. '01 created his legacy on dealing with situations pertaining to suicide. Dr. DeSantis recently retired from the Office of Veterans Affairs as a Suicide Prevention Coordinator after being a part of the program for 12 years. During his time with the VA, DeSantis was awarded the Secretary of Health Award for Outstanding Community Outreach in 2017. 

NSU Law alumna Yineth Aslan ’16 Shares Her Passion For Community and Diversity.

Yineth Sanchez Aslan graduated from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law in the spring of 2016 and continues to fulfill her goals of advocating for victims. She also continues to promote the need for diversity and inclusion of underrepresented minorities in the law.

NSU Education Alumnus, A Leader in South Florida Private School Education, Opens Virtual School

Brent Goldman, Ed.D., a leader in private school education in South Florida since 1996, recently opened a virtual school called Xceed Anywhere. Goldman earned his M.S. in 1994 and his Ed.D. in 1997 from the Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice.
