The New South Wales Wine Industry Association represents the interests of all NSW wine producers and grape growers. Our aim is for the NSW Wine Industry Association to advocate for the NSW Wine Industry and provide information and a sense of belonging to our members.
FEBRUARY NSWWIA BOARD MEETING
At NSW Wine, we are always trying to communicate as broadly as possible and keep all our members and the industry informed. With this in mind, from here forward we will publish a summary document of the major points discussed at each Board Meeting.

WSET COURSES
The WSET courses have become the global industry standards for wine education over the past few years. Wine Spirit Training has been teaching WSET courses in Brisbane for nearly 10 years. At the beginning of 2020, Jenny Polack took over as Director of the company bringing over 20 years of wine education experience, over 30 years of wine industry experience and the benefits of three wine degrees.
Wine Spirit Training has spread its wings from Brisbane and now has WSET courses in Gosford, Byron Bay and Canberra as well as online. The up coming courses are:
WSET Level 1 in Wines in Gosford Monday 29 March 2021 10am - 5.30pm AEDT
WSET Level 1 in Wines in Byron Bay Monday 10 May 2021 10am - 5.30pm AEDT
WSET Level 2 in Wines in Gosford Mondays 12, 19 April and 3 May 2021
3 full days 10am - 5.30pm AEDT
WSET Level 2 in Wines in Byron Bay Tuesday - Thursday11 - 13 May 2021
3 full days 10am - 5.30pm AEDT
WSET Level 2 in Wines online Tuesday 3pm - 5pm AEST 13, 20, 27 April, 4, 11, 18 and 25 May and 1 June 2021
WSET Level 3 in Wines in Canberra and online - this is a hybrid course with 3 days of in-person classes and ten 2 hour session on Mondays 10am - Noon AEST. The in-person dates are: Monday 3 May 2021, Monday 26 July and Tuesday 27 July 2021

Want a WSET course close to home? If there is enough interest within a wine region, they can bring the course to you! They need a minimum of ten people per course as well as a suitable venue.
WSET Level 1 in Wines is a single day course. This course is suitable for beginner staff.
WSET Level 2 in Wines is a three day course which works well in regional areas.
WSET Level 3 in Wines can be a week long in-person course but they prefer the hybrid model of in-person and face to face.

$3 MILLION BOOST FOR REGIONAL NSW VISITOR
The NSW Government is giving the state’s regional visitor economy a $3 million boost through a funding program to support the development of new attractions and visitor infrastructure and to refresh existing tourism products.
Run by Destination NSW, the Tourism Product Development Fund comprises of two streams: 
  • Refresh and Renew Fund: offering $10,000 grants to regional tourism operators to update their product or experience 
  • Experience Enhancement Fund: provides between $50,000 and $150,000 in matched funding to assist operators upgrade existing accommodation to be 4 to 5-star, upgrade business and leisure event venues and facilities, repurpose existing infrastructure to provide new facilities or experiences not currently available within the destination, or to create new tourism attractions or experiences
