The National Treatment Court Resource Center (NTCRC) has released the 2025 edition of Painting the Current Picture: By The Numbers—a comprehensive, data-driven report offering a snapshot of operational treatment court programs across the United States and its territories during calendar year 2022. This report highlights key trends in the growth of treatment courts, participant demographics, graduation rates, and substances of use. Data is organized by treatment court type, including:

The National Treatment Court Resource Center (NTCRC) has released the 2024 Treatment Court Count, offering a comprehensive overview of treatment court operations across the United States as of December 31, 2024.

According to the report, 4,276 treatment courts were in operation nationwide, spanning all U.S. states and territories. This count includes a wide range of court types, such as Adult Drug Courts, DUI/DWI Courts, Family Treatment Courts, Mental Health Courts, Veterans Treatment Courts, and Juvenile Drug Treatment Courts.



The data—collected from state and territory coordinators—provides valuable insights into the distribution and reach of treatment courts, helping stakeholders understand where programs are available and where gaps may exist.
