HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
"What the people want is very simple - they want an America as good as its promise."

In Memoriam: Nan Healy
I regret to inform you of the passing of one of our members and volunteers, Nan Healy of Glenview. She was a personal friend of mine and we were introduced to each other by our exercise instructor at EAC. He felt that both of us staunch Democrats in the same age bracket needed to meet.

Nan, in addition to being a good and generous friend, gave generously of her time to our organization. She always worked the greeting tables at our meetings and Annual Dinner and she tirelessly canvassed her precincts on behalf of our candidates.

She will be dearly missed by me as a friend, and greatly missed by our organization as a fervent supporter of Democratic candidates and our mission.

We pass on our deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren on their loss.

Judy Mandel, President of New Trier Democrats

The New Trier Democrats Board of Directors would like to offer condolences to our fellow board member, Merilee Redmond, on the passing of her mother, Rosalie (Mrs. William G.) Clark, of cancer last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with Merilee and her family. May her life be for a blessing.

Lauren Underwood
Support U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood’s Re-Election (IL-14th) With Indivisible Evanston’s Weekly Virtual Phone Bank Parties Beginning Thursday, June 25th

As you know,  Lauren Underwood  is running for re-election to the US House in Illinois’ 14th district. And though November is some months away, there are some things we can do now to support her campaign.  In a joint effort with the campaign itself to re-kindle the camaraderie of canvassing and phone bank parties in person, Indivisible Evanston will be hosting weekly virtual phone bank parties with members on Thursdays beginning June 25th!

Parties will last from 5-8pm CDT and are hosted by the campaign. A member of the campaign will be on the call and offer training in the first 15-20 minutes and then ‘hang out’ for the duration, answering any questions—about the phone bank system and the script or if one of your call recipients has a question about Rep. Underwood that is not in the script and you’re unable to answer.

SIGN UP HERE.   After signing up, you’ll get an invite to the actual event once it’s available; you’ll also get reminders prior to June 25th Note: if you can’t make Thursdays, you can always phone bank on your own remotely. You can sign up on the underwoodforcongress.com Events page  here . Questions on the Thursday virtual phone bank parties? Email  indivisibleevanston@gmail.com .

Sign Up For Indivisible’s Payback Project

Indivisible’s  Payback Project  is a plan to target TEN Republican Senators up for reelection and take back the Senate majority. Defeating this many Senate Republicans will not be easy. It will take a massive awareness campaign to expose the truth of their complicity to voters, and a growing grassroots army on the ground ready to ensure their Democratic opponents have the funding and people necessary to knock doors, activate voters and win.

Indivisible has a comprehensive, four-pronged approach to make sure Republicans Senators are held accountable for their actions, their votes, and their enabling of Donald Trump.  Click here to learn more and get involved

One way to take action is the Payback Project’s a peer-to-peer textbanking outreach campaign to engage voters across the target states to take action with Indivisible groups in their area and mobilize locally to flip their Senate seats.  SIGN UP  right now to text and help them win back the Senate this fall.
