President's Message:

Greetings NTMCA Members!

Happy June!  The weather is getting warmer, graduations are happening faster than parents can keep up, schools are letting out, and vacations are beginning to take hold.  What a wonderful time of year!

JUNE MEETING

We hope you'll all join us at our annual Awards Luncheon on June 22nd at the "Innovate Flower Mound Entrepreneur Center" at 650 Parker Square, Flower Mound, as we celebrate our member volunteers.  We have a wonderful team!  Each committee member has dedicated numerous hours to the success of our organization and now it's time to give them the recognition they deserve.

AFTER 5 SOCIALS

We're not having much luck on our social nights, but let's not stop trying!  Our intention is to conduct a social in conveniently located cities throughout the Metroplex in order to encourage the most participation.

April's event in Grapevine was attended by two members.  May's event was cancelled due to a severe storm warning.  The storm never did get here and a few members took the opportunity to visit anyway, which I was glad to hear.

With the busy-ness of June scheduling of graduations, the Awards Luncheon, and many embarking on vacation, our next event will be held on Thursday, July 13th, at the  54th Street Grill on 635/LBJ between Olympus and McArthur Boulevards in Irving.   MAP   Mark your calendars now and join us for a few laughs after a long day.

Thank you for your support, friendship, and continued service to our organization and each other!

Respectfully Yours,   Carol Borges, President

DID YOU KNOW??
DID YOU KNOW..............What is MMC..........

A Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) is a program through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).  The MMC program is the second and more advanced of the two professional designations granted by IIMC.  The first designation granted by IIMC is the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC).  The MMC program is an advanced continuing education program that prepares participants to perform complex municipal duties.  Before you start you must be an active member of IIMC and hold a CMC designation in good standing.  Next, submit your application for admission plus enrollment fee for the certification program. To obtain the MMC designation you will need 60 points of advanced education as well as 40 points of professional and social contributions for a total of 100 points. Educational points can be easily obtained by attending the IIMC annual conference, acquiring college degree credit, completing IIMC online courses, or attending credited Athenian Dialogues throughout the year. IIMC's Education Department will keep you informed of any education opportunities offered when you enroll into the program. Social/Professional contribution points can be obtained by also attending the IIMC annual conference, serving on IIMC Board of Directors or a municipal clerk association/committee. You may enroll in the MMC program while accumulating your points. There is no deadline to complete the point requirements. Upon completion of all requirements, you'll pay the MMC certification fee, then receive the certificate and lapel pin. Once obtained, you will only need to remain an active member of IIMC in order to have your MMC recognized

Meeting Reservations

Members we need your help!

In order to be able to provide food for all that attend our monthly meetings, we need to know who will be attending, so please let us know your intentions by the RSVP date.

Deadlines are included in the invitation, and on the meeting webpage.

The best way to take care of this is to plan to attend all of the meetings and RSVP when you receive the invite!

Thank you for your cooperation!
