Join SNTC for our IGRA for Nurses Webinar. The purpose of this webinar is to provide public health nurses with knowledge about the Interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) blood tests and how they are used to identify patients with past or recent infections with the Mycobacterium Tuberculosis organism (Mtb). This knowledge will allow nurses to identify which indeterminate or borderline test results require follow-up.
Target Audience: This webinar is designed for public health nurses who interact with TB patients.
Course Goals:
-
Recognize the quantitative assay measurements of the two types of IGRA tests and the antigen/antibody immune response related to interpreting a test result.
-
Identify the IGRA cut-off result values, including positive/negative, indeterminate, and borderline, and how those cut-off values are interpreted when determining a test result.
-
Identify what an indeterminate or borderline test result indicates in relation to reviewing a test result and retesting.
