Worship and Arts
Please Welcome Theo Hicks
As Our New Director of Music
Dr. Theodore (Theo) Hicks recently joined North United Methodist Church as director of music, where he oversees the church’s choral and worship music ministries.
Please join us in the Gathering Center this Sunday following the 11 a.m. service for a reception to welcome him and his family.
Theo also serves as director of choral activities at Anderson University, where he conducts the university’s choral ensembles and teaches conducting, vocal pedagogy, and music education.
A conductor, educator, arranger, and vocalist, Theo is passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences that combine artistic excellence, community, and spiritual formation. He holds nearly two decades of choral leadership experience and is active internationally as a clinician, presenter, and performer, including work with championship barbershop ensembles and educational organizations.
Theo and his family — wife Laura and daughters Nora (8) and Eleni (3) — are grateful for the warm welcome they have already received at North and Theo looks forward to making music and ministry together in the years ahead.
Special thanks go to Kathleen Hacker for her invaluable service as our interim music director. Her expert skills and deep commitment have made this a smooth and productive transition. And now we give her our blessings for a rich and enjoyable retirement!

Even if you can only commit to one of the two Saturdays, your time is appreciated. Please let Pastor Jill know if you would like to serve in this important ministry, or if you have questions.

Use Biodegradable Bandages
Bandages, even fabric ones, contain plastic and are usually wrapped in plastic or come in a plastic container. They also include microfibers which take decades to break down, so your injury might be fixed, but your bandage is hurting the planet. Look for bamboo-based biodegradable versions in cardboard packaging.
