Congregational Meeting Called
for Sunday, March 20, at 11:30 AM
Your Board of Trustees has called a congregational meeting for 11:30 AM, Sunday March 20, 2022. At this meeting, we will hear the annual report of the congregation, elect new officers to the Board and the Nominating Committee, and receive a complete report related to the Building Expansion project. Everyone on this newsletter list will receive materials in the week prior to the meeting including the 2021 Annual Report (which will list the names and biographies of officers nominated for election), and also plans, visuals, and financial assumptions related to our building expansion project. During the meeting the congregation will be asked to approval to our final building plans and inaugurate the final phase of our capital campaign. Should everything go smoothly, we will begin construction in June. You can attend AND vote either in person (masked and vaccinated) or online (use the Zoom link used for Sunday worship, we will also send it out separately the morning of our meeting). Please plan to be with us for this important and long awaited moment in the history of our congregation!
Music news and notes
The NUUC Choir will begin performing together again after a two-year pause. I am overjoyed that we are able to return to singing and performing at worship services.
For the month of March, the NUUC Choir will be rehearsing and performing in a two-week cycle. If you’ve ever thought about singing with us, but didn’t want to make the full year commitment, this is the perfect opportunity to try out choir. We will be practicing and performing one anthem at a time with short rehearsals at 9:30 on Sunday mornings.
The first two-week cycle will be for the anthem “River In Judea.” The first practice was Sunday, February 27, at 9:30-10:00 in Fellowship Hall. The final rehearsal and performance will be on Sunday, March 6 at 9:30 for the rehearsal and 10:30 for the performance.
The second two-week cycle will feature Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Rehearsal will be Sunday, March 13 at 9:30am in Fellowship Hall. The following week (March 20), the choir will meet at 9:30am to practice and perform during the worship service.
Sheet music is available, in-person, on Sunday mornings and will also be sent via email in a digital PDF for home practice. Performance videos can be found on YouTube.
Please let me know if you are interested in singing so I can add you to the choir email list and get you copies of the music.
Let’s sing!

Social Justice News

OUR VOICES (TWEETING) TOGETHER: TWITTER 101 - THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 2022 AT 7 PM – 8 PM: The Our Voices Together Coalition is sponsoring a Twitter 101 training on Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. Eastern. Twitter is one of the most widely used and effective social media platforms in the political realm, and Pastor Hank has almost no idea how to use it. This training will give you (and him) the basics so that we can all post pictures of our pets and tweet to #stopohioantiprotestbills with confidence. This is the first of several social media platform trainings we hope to host in partnership with OFUPAC.
