Empty Bowls Soup Lunch Nov. 23
To Benefit Mid Ohio Food Bank
As you have undoubtably followed in the news, food insecurity is it an all time high for vulnerable family. On Sunday November 23, 2025, we will be hosting an “Empty Bowls” soup lunch to benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Members can donate soup or bread to the lunch. If you bring soup, please bring it in a crock pot or other appliance that will allow you to keep it warm (if it is a hot soup). You can sign up below to bring a soup (please indicate which type), bring bread, or to help with set up. We’ll all enjoy the soups after worship on Nov. 23, and we will ask people at the lunch to make an entirely voluntary donation of $10 or more, with all proceeds going to the Mid Ohio Food Bank. Sign up to help by clicking here. If you would like to contribute to our collection for the food bank but can't make it to the lunch, you can contribute anytime through the month of November by clicking here, choosing "One TIme Gift" on the menu and indicating "Mid Ohio Food Bank" in response to the question about whether your contribution is for any purpose other than a regular church pledge.

Audio-Video Team Looking to Expand
Do you want to do something fun and interesting? Would you like working with trendy technology and being part of a team? Consider becoming a member of NUUC’s Audio-Visual Team! Every Sunday, 2 team members manage the audio in the sanctuary for the Sunday service and they also handle broadcasting the Sunday service to the world using Zoom.
For the sound, the team uses the latest in sound technology, which is a 16-channel digital mixer. This mixer allows the person handling the sanctuary sound to remotely use a digital tablet to adjust and control the sound while remaining in the sanctuary throughout the service.
The 2nd team member handles the Zoom broadcast from the audio-video room. This role involves panning and zooming the video camera and adjusting the sound for the video. This team member uses a variety of programs on an array of computer screens to manage the video broadcast.
The Audio-Video Team is looking to increase its size to reach their goal of having enough members so members will only need to handle audio-video on one Sunday a month.
If you have limited audio-video experience, no problem- we will train you.
If you are interested in joining the Audio-Video Team, please contact Bob Keith at bobkeith@zoho.com.

Life has a way of rushing by. Sometimes we feel the need to pause or to reflect more deeply. Join me for a virtual half hour of mindful contemplation that is inclusive, non-judgmental and expectation free. I’ll bring a mix of poetry, music, breathwork, silence, or meditation to create a space for you to relax. Participants are muted. Feel free to turn your video off. Please engage in whatever way feels most meaningful to you. A Space for Reflection is freely offered the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm on Zoom. Registration is required (link here).
As for me, Karen McGuire, the facilitator, I’m a lifelong Unitarian Universalist, a retired educator, and a trained Interspiritual Companion who finds it necessary to stop every once in a while, and pay attention.

New Feature: Members' Bulletin Board
Are you involved in something you'd like to share with the congregation? Now there's a way to include that in the newsletter. Just email Barb Lubberger for inclusion in the monthly email newsletter at: blubberg@gmail.com. Since the newsletter comes out at the beginning of each month, you will need to send your event to Barb in the month preceding your event. For example, for an event that will be held in October, you'd send the notice in September.
