A Message from the Executive Director
Ludwig P. Gaines, Esq.

Greetings and Happy New Year!  2017 was an exciting and eventful year at NVAA.  With new leadership at Executive Director it has been a time of transition, of refocusing resources and strengthening the Association around its core mission. I have enjoyed it all, especially working with our dedicated Board of Directors, and promoting and supporting our amazing members.  In 2017, we enjoyed our share of legislative victories, both locally and in Richmond, welcomed new members, established the Legacy Speaker Series, streamlined our processes for greater efficiency, and hosted multiple successful association and industry events including the Northern Virginia Apartment Summit @ George Mason University, Founders Awards, Annual Golf Classic, meet and greets with locally elected officials, and our fantastic Holiday Party, to name a few.

2018 promises to be a banner year for NVAA.  We have new and innovative programming already scheduled, welcomed new Board Members and additional office staff, augmented our local legislative advocacy program to best respond to local issues, and, among other things, are leveraging social media opportunities such as this new e-newsletter, "NVAA e-News", to bring you interesting and timely information. When you think go-to source, think NVAA.

As NVAA has done for 61 years, our commitment to Northern Virginia's multi-family industry and those who service it remains unwavering.  Key to our collective success is YOU. New member or old, we want, need and value your engagement and feedback .  Whether its serving on an NVAA committee, sharing industry information, or attending our events and trainings, we know WE succeed when YOU are engaged.  How can you get more involved?  Easy. Start by attending NVAA's 3rd annual Launch Lunch on January 25th @ Arlington's Texas Jack's Restaurant and any of our new quarterly informational Open Houses to learn more about NVAA, volunteer opportunities, and our exciting 2018 plans. The NVAA calendar is below to assist you in planning your participation throughout the year.

Lastly, so we can marshal our resources, be best informed, and support your interests and those of the Association, please keep an eye out for NVAA's 2018 Membership Survey coming soon. Advocacy, Education and Elevation!
 My best!
