Dear Members,
This year has gotten off to a wonderful start! Our Juried Painting Show has been a tremendous success, and we look forward to announcing the People’s Choice Award.
I would especially like to recognize and thank Diedra Malain for her extraordinary dedication to the Art League. Diedra has been instrumental in creating and developing our Juried Painting Shows, and along with her team, has helped bring forward the classes, workshops, and exhibitions that support our mission. Her steady presence and commitment have meant so much to this organization.
As many of you may know, Diedra will be moving to Wisconsin this fall. Her departure will be a significant loss, and she will be deeply missed.
At the same time, this moment offers an opportunity for members to step forward and support the continued strength of the Art League. Our community thrives because of the involvement of our members, and we will be sharing ways to get involved in future newsletters.
We also have a very exciting Spring ahead. Beginning in April, Audrey Peck returns with her popular Figure Drawing classes, and we are pleased to welcome Mel Jackson, who will be offering a new watercolor class series.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming juried exhibition, “Northern California Landscapes: Voices of the Land”, in collaboration with the Siskiyou Art Museum in Dunsmuir. We encourage all members to participate—details and entry information coming April 1st.
Thank you, as always, for being part of this vibrant and creative community—and please take a moment to thank Diedra when you see her in the gallery.
With Appreciation,
Sue Mandel, NVAL President
