President's Letter
Kim Gulling, FACMPE
NVMGMA 2018 year brought changes galore. It wouldn’t be an exciting time if we didn’t make sure to shake things up a bit. Let’s take a moment to review 2018 in all its glory…

The year started off with bringing on KCA, an association management company, to help support the board with the many tasks it takes to run our state organization. Cathy Herring, Jessica Painter, and Skye Young have been instrumental in assisting us this past year. They have rolled out a new Facebook page and are continuously updating the content. If you haven’t already, make sure to check it out and “like us”. Thanks to KCA, our marketing materials have been updated with the new MGMA logo and the Annual State Conference was a success thanks to their help. Currently, KCA is in the process of putting together a membership committee for 2019. If you are interested in volunteering for this committee, or any committee for that matter, please reach out to any board member , committee member, or Cathy , Jessica , and Skye directly. It is a great way to get involved in your association.

NVMGMA continued on collaborations with ACHE, HFMA, HIMSS and NvHiMA...

Education Committee Update

The 2019 NVMGMA Annual State Conference will be on Thursday, April 18 at the Reno Ballroom, one block east of the Silver Legacy Resort in Reno. We are excited to announce that the theme for this year’s conference is the Body of Knowledge . An understanding and use of the Body of Knowledge is essential for our success as practice managers, and is also the basis for certification and fellowship in the American College of Practice Management Executives.
We are currently focused on speaker recruitment to ensure all of the speakers that are chosen are credible and knowledgeable, giving our members the best experience possible.
Please check the NVMGMA website for the most up to date conference information.
Vendor registration is open! If you are interested in participating as a conference vendor, please visit our website by clicking here .
If you have any questions, please contact Education Committee Chair Leonard Hamer

Member Testimonial

Jassmin Martell Perez,
Practice Manager, Nevada Health Centers

"NVMGMA offers fantastic resources and valuable education for their members on the ever-changing healthcare trends. In the four years that I have utilized MGMA’s resources and education, I have been able to implement some of the best practices in my health centers, which led to 5% decrease in “no show” rates , reduce patient registration times by four minutes and increase provider and patient satisfaction.

The knowledge I’ve gained has helped me advance in my career and has allowed me to be a more efficient health care professional. I encourage all of my colleagues to become members of MGMA both on a state and national level."
