NVTA Wants Your Feedback!

NVTA's FY2026–2031 Six Year Program (SYP) public comment period is open until May 17, which includes 27 transportation projects submitted by eight Northern Virginia localities seeking regional funding. The project proposals span bus transit, rail, roadway improvements, transportation technology, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and intersection and interchange upgrades.


Community members are encouraged to review the proposed projects and share their feedback during the comment period. The public is also invited to provide in-person or virtual testimony during the May Authority meeting (May 14).

🚧 Project Progress Across the Region 🚧

Crosstrail Boulevard - Sycolin Road to the Dulles Greenway Groundbreaking


On April 13, Loudoun County broke ground on the Crosstrail Boulevard - Sycolin Road to the Dulles Greenway project. NVTA is proud to invest $36.7 million in Regional Revenue Funds in this project, which will reduce congestion, improve safety and add new shared-use paths. The groundbreaking marks an important milestone as planning and partnerships move this project from vision to reality.

Columbia Pike

Multimodal Improvements

Ribbon Cutting

On April 15, the Columbia Pike Multimodal Improvements project reached an exciting milestone with a ribbon cutting alongside regional partners! NVTA invested 
$22 million in Regional Revenue Funds across the Columbia Pike corridor, including $10 million for the eastern project portion and $12 million previously for the entire corridor. Our investments have helped transform this vital corridor into a safer, more accessible route for travelers across all modes.

Crystal City East Metro Entrance Topping Out Ceremony

On April 17, NVTA joined partners to celebrate the topping out of the Crystal City East Metro Station Entrance - supported by more than $5 million in NVTA funding to improve access and connectivity. Less than two years after the July 2024 groundbreaking, the project is already a step closer to completion.

Devlin Road Widening

Groundbreaking

On April 24, NVTA and partners broke ground on the Devlin Road Widening project in Prince William County. This $4 million investment through NVTA's Local Distribution Fund will help ease congestion, expand capacity and improve connectivity for the communities who rely on this corridor.
