Supports research, development, and demonstration efforts to dramatically reduce the cost of clean hydrogen. This funding is dedicated to advancing electrolysis technologies and improving manufacturing and recycling capabilities.
Rural Innovation Stronger Economy (RISE) Program – USDA Rural Development

Provides grants for job accelerator partnerships that will serve people in low-income and underserved rural communities. Funds may be used to build or support a business incubator facility; provide worker training to assist in job creations; train existing workforce; and more. Eligible entities include: non-profit entities, state and Tribal entities, institutions of higher education, and public bodies.
STEM Talent Challenge - U.S. Economic Development Administration
More info here. The U.S Economic Development Administration’s STEM Talent Challenge aims to build STEM talent training systems to strengthen regional innovation economies. The FY23 STEM Talent Challenge will award a total of $4.5 million in grants to organizations that are creating and implementing STEM talent development strategies that complement their region’s innovation economy. Projects should aim to identify opportunities in high-growth potential sectors, and to expand and empower the innovation economy workforce. Competition applicants may request up to $500,000 for implementation of a 24-month program. A 1:1 funding match is required.
University Center Grants - U.S. Economic Development Administration

Hydroelectric Production Incentive Program - U.S. Dept. of Energy

Provides incentive payments to qualified hydroelectric facilities for electricity generated and sold.
Hydroelectric Efficiency Improvement Incentives – U.S. Dept. of Energy
More info here. Provides funding to owners or operators of hydroelectric facilities at existing dams to be used to make capital improvements in the facilities that are directly related to improving the efficiency
Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Program – U.S. Dept. of Transportation

Program will help deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging and alternative-fueling infrastructure. Eligible entities include: States, cities, counties, local governments, and Tribes.
Water Conservation Field Services Program – USBR WaterSMART

This U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) program supports the development of water conservation plans to meet state or local water conservation goals. This U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) program supports the study, design and construction of collaboratively developed ecosystem restoration projects that provide widespread regional benefits and improve the health of fisheries, wildlife and aquatic habitat through restoration and improved fish passage. Dept. of Energy NOFA for Rural or Remote Areas

The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) intends to issue a funding opportunity in March 2023 for up to $300 million to improve the cost, reliability, environmental impact, and climate resilience of energy systems in rural or remote areas across the country.
Dept. of Transportation Port, Transit, and Other Funding Opportunities
More info here. A number of FY2023 grant programs and funding opportunities geared toward rural transportation practitioners are currently accepting applicants. These programs include modernizing port infrastructure (MARAD), training in operating commercial vehicles (FMCSA), funding buses and bus facilities (FTA), funding low-emission buses and bus facilities (FTA). State Funding Opportunities
High-Speed Charging for EVs - Colorado Energy Office

Funding program for the Direct Current Fast-Charging Plazas program. The grants are intended to increase access to high-speed charging in communities along transportation corridors across
Colorado through large deployments of fast chargers.
Proposition 123 Funding
Details on this program HERE. Several hundred million dollars for affordable housing will become available in the second half of 2023 due to the enactment of Proposition 123 by Colorado’s voters in 2022. This funding will be overseen by the Department of Local Affairs and the Governor's Office of Economic Development and International Trade and may be granted or loaned to the following types of organizations: Non-profits; Community land trusts; Private entities; Local governments.
Colorado Housing & Finance Authority (CHFA) Direct Effect Grant
Application opens May 1; Deadline May 31. CHFA’s Direct Effect Awards recognize Colorado nonprofit organizations whose missions align with CHFA’s work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development. Details HERE.

National Forest Foundation: Matching Awards Program
Deadline: June 7 | More info here. Provides funds for projects that directly benefit U.S. National Forests and Grasslands. Reflecting recent program changes, the focus is now on projects that inspire participants to get personally involved in caring for their public lands. Program goals are to create lasting change that will allow all communities, especially underserved communities, opportunities to benefit from activities on National Forest System lands or adjacent public lands. Nonprofit organizations, tribal governments and organizations, and universities are eligible to apply.
