Rural Hospital Stabilization Pilot Program: Dept. of Health and Human Services
Deadline: July 26 | Details here. The purpose of the Rural Hospital Stabilization Pilot Program is to improve healthcare in rural areas by providing in-depth technical assistance to rural hospitals to enhance or expand service lines to meet local needs and keep healthcare services available locally. Service lines may include, but are not limited to, pulmonary rehabilitation, infusion/chemotherapy, inpatient psychiatric services, outpatient behavioral health services, obstetric services, cardiac rehabilitation, and expanded primary care. The Program aims to increase service volume and revenue to improve hospital financial sustainability in rural hospitals that have limited access to resources needed to expand their services.
Our Town Program: National Endowment for the Arts
Deadline: August 1 | Details here. Our Town is the NEA's creative placemaking grants program supporting projects that integrate arts, culture, and design activities into efforts that strengthen communities over the long term. Successful Our Town projects demonstrate a specific role for arts, culture, and design as part of strategies for strengthening local communities, ultimately centering equity and laying the groundwork for long-term systems change tailored to community needs and opportunities.
Historic Preservation Fund: History of Equal Rights Grants
Deadline: August 20 | Details here. The National Park Service’s (NPS) History of Equal Rights Grant Program (HER) will preserve sites related to the struggle of all Americans to achieve equal rights. HER grants are funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF), administered by the NPS, and will fund a broad range of preservation projects for historic sites including: architectural services, historic structure reports, preservation plans, and physical preservation to structures. Grants are awarded through a competitive process and do not require non-Federal match.
Veterans Business Outreach Program: U.S. Small Business Administration
Deadline: July 19 | Details here. The purpose of this funding opportunity is to provide quality training and counseling to veterans small business owners and entrepreneurs
New Access Points: Health Resources and Services Administration
Deadline: August 23 | Details here. The purpose of this funding is to support new health center service delivery sites to expand affordable, accessible, and high-quality primary health care for underserved communities and populations.
Brownfields Job Training Grants: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Deadline: August 15 | Details here. The Brownfields Job Training Grants program provides graduates with the opportunity to seek and obtain environmental jobs across a spectrum of brownfield-related activities—including the assessment, cleanup, remediation, and planning/site preparation for the revitalization of brownfields—that contractors may otherwise fill from outside the affected community. This can involve the assessment and cleanup of solid and hazardous waste, chemical risk management, stormwater management relating to site cleanup, planning and site preparation for low-impact development activities, planning and site preparation for green infrastructure installation and maintenance, and vulnerability assessment and contamination mitigation planning.
State Opportunities
Climate Resilience Challenge: Colorado Department of Local Affairs
Applications open July 1; deadline August 1 | Details here. The Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) will be opening the third round of the Climate Resilience Challenge (CRC), with $10M available in grant funding, on July 1, 2024. DOLA encourages Colorado local governments to think big and submit high-impact, multi-objective plans and projects that address climate adaptation, mitigation, and equity.
State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program: Colorado Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management
Deadline: July 9 | Details here. Colorado’s State and Local Cyber Security Grant Program (SLCGP) provides local government agencies a managed detection and response (MDR) system to detect and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
Agrivoltaics Research and Demonstration Grant
Deadline: July 21 | Details here. Through Senate Bill 23-092(opens in new window), the Colorado state legislature appropriated $500,000 to distribute as agrivoltaics grants in Fiscal Year 2023-24 to support Colorado producers and help Colorado’s clean energy transition. These grants should conduct a new or ongoing demonstration or research project as a means to study the potential, benefits, and tradeoffs of agrivoltaics in the state.
Closed Landfill Remediation Grants: Colorado Dept. of Public Heath & Environment
Applications will be open July 1 | Details here. The program will provide grants to eligible local governments to help with the costs of environmental remediation efforts for, and management of, closed landfills owned by local governments.

Colorado Energy Office: Grants, Incentives, and Programs
The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) offers a number of grants, incentives, and programming for Colorado municipal governments. Whether you’re looking to support safe and resilient building codes, streamline solar permitting processes, or bring more electric vehicle charging stations to your community, CEO has a program to support you. Current Opportunities:
Middle-Income Housing Authority (MIHA) Applications
Applications accepted on a rolling basis | Details here. MIHA is a special purpose authority that is independent from the state, and OEDIT assists with administrative needs. MIHA has the power to issue bonds to finance affordable rental housing projects with AMIs generally between 80% and 120%, or 140% in rural resort areas. MIHA reopened for applications on March 8, 2024 and is currently accepting applications on a rolling basis.
CHFA Direct Effect Awards
Round 2: Open August 19 and closes Sept. 17 | Details here. CHFA is pleased to announce the dates for its 2024 Direct Effect Awards. Direct Effect Awards are an opportunity for CHFA to recognize and support Colorado nonprofits whose missions align with our work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development. In 2024, CHFA is celebrating 50 years of strengthening Colorado. To help commemorate, CHFA will additionally award up to five $50,000 Direct Effect Awards in each round of 2024.

Early Milestones Colorado: Impact on Equity Initiative
Deadline for letter of intent: July 19 | Details here. Early Milestones Colorado aims to make Colorado the best place to be a child. Through the Impact on Equity Initiative, Milestones will invest in innovative community efforts and will accelerate systemic change based on what works. The 2024 funding opportunity, Powering Collaborations to Reduce Prenatal – Three Inequities Through System and Policy Change, will support local collaborations to reduce inequities for families with children prenatal to three years old. Support will be provided to collaborations of partners in community systems that have identified a critical problem facing families with children prenatal to three and a potential solution to that problem.
AI for Climate and Nature Grand Challenge: Bezos Earth Fund
Deadline: July 30 | Details here. This initiative seeks to explore new ideas for multiplying the impact of climate and nature efforts using modern AI. The Grand Challenge aims to incentivize partnerships across experts in climate, nature, and AI, and give these collaborators the opportunity to bring speed, scale, accuracy, and precision to their climate and nature efforts by proposing, designing, and deploying modern AI solutions. The Grand Challenge is focused on sustainable proteins, power grid optimization, and biodiversity conservation, in addition to embracing visionary wildcard solutions for climate and nature.
