2023 Workforce Housing Report
The Northwest Colorado Council of Governments (NWCCOG) partnered with the Colorado Association of Ski Towns (CAST) to produce the 2023 Workforce Housing Report in an effort to provide communities with tools, strategies, best practices, and innovative ideas to increase the supply of affordable workforce housing. Charging Forward: A Toolkit for Planning and Funding Electric Mobility
This Toolkit is a one-stop resource to help communities scope, plan, and identify ways to fund EV-charging infrastructure. There are two separate resources; the Rural EV Toolkit and the Urban E-Mobility Toolkit, which provide information on how to best leverage billions of dollars in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).

Save America's Treasures Grants: National Park Service
Deadline: Dec. 19 | Details here. Save America’s Treasures grants from the Historic Preservation Fund provide preservation or conservation assistance to nationally significant historic properties and collections. Properties can include historic districts, buildings, sites, structures, and objects, and collections can include artifacts, museum collections, documents, sculptures, and other works of art.
USDA Wood Innovations and Community Wood Funding Opportunities
The Wood Innovations program aims to stimulate, expand, and support markets for U.S. wood products and wood energy to reduce forest fire fuels in the Forest Service system, reduce forest management costs, and promote environmental and economic health. Read more about the available grants online.
Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) - Deadline Feb 29
Deadline: Feb. 29, 2024 | Details here. Grant program for hazard mitigation activities. FEMA will extend financial assistance to eligible BRIC applicants for a range of activities, including capability and capacity-building initiatives to enhance workforce expertise, hazard mitigation projects that bolster public safety and resilience against a variety of natural hazards, and management costs, which help offset administrative expenses associated with mitigation measures and projects.

Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity (RREO) Recycling Grants
Full details here. This established a grant and rebate program to help create or expand existing recycling programs, and to provide rebate opportunities for Colorado businesses and organizations that are actively providing recycling services.
Geothermal Energy Grant Program - Colorado Energy Office
Deadline: Jan. 19, 2024 | Details here. Supports the use of zero-emission, geothermal energy for electricity generation and space/water heating and cooling in homes, businesses, and communities.
Public Building Electrification Grant - Colorado Energy Office
Deadline: Rolling | Details here. Provides public buildings with funding to explore and implement building system electrification measures and infrastructure upgrades required to support these technologies.
Community Access Enterprise EV Readiness Plan Funding
Deadline: Dec. 15 | Details here. The Community Access Enterprise, in partnership with the Colorado Energy Office, will provides funding to develop electric vehicle (EV) readiness plans. Potential applicants in Xcel Energy territory are strongly encouraged to explore Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy offering on their website or by contacting the program directly.
Main Street LIVE: Livability Investments for Vibrant Economies
Deadline: Dec. 1 | Details here. Main Street LIVE will fund downtown public infrastructure and facilities as Livability Investments for Vibrant Economies. This $17.5 million infusion will reinvest in our downtowns and enhance long-term sustainability, add to the built environment (buildings, streets, infrastructure), attract workforce, and augment other energy and housing projects. This Initiative supports a reduced local match. This Initiative is a part of and will follow the regularly planned cycles of the Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Fund (EIAF) Program.
Community Business Preservation Program
Deadline: Jan 19, 2024 | For more information, contact Leslie Hylton-Hinga; leslie.hylton-hinga@state.co.us. Colorado Creative Industries. This program provides grants of $10,000-$50,000, as well as up to two years of training and consultation support, to groups of geographically proximate and culturally similar businesses that are facing displacement pressures and that hold cultural, social, or historical significance in Colorado.

Small Manufacturing Recovery Grants

The Small Manufacturing Recovery Grants program through Manufacturer's Edge is for small- to medium-sized manufacturers and consists of multiple statewide grant opportunities, including some that are specifically designed to serve Colorado’s diverse rural manufacturing communities. Selected companies will receive grant funding to offset a portion of the total cost of the project.
T-Mobile Hometown Grants
Deadline: Jan. 2 | Details here. T-Mobile Hometown Grants provide up to $50,000 to fund projects to build, rebuild, or refresh community spaces that help foster local connections in your community.
Home Depot Foundation: Veteran Housing Grants Program
Deadlines: December 15, 2023, and March 22 and July 7, 2024 | Details here. The Home Depot Foundation's Veteran Housing Grants Program provides support for the new construction or rehabilitation of multifamily, permanent supportive housing for veterans. Rural areas will be considered.
Google Cybersecurity Clinics Fund
Deadline: March 24, 2024 | Details here. The Google Cybersecurity Clinics Fund, a Google initiative in collaboration with the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, will support U.S.-based colleges, universities, and community colleges with up to $1 million each in funding to increase access and opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in cybersecurity. Any nonprofit or public higher education institution is eligible to apply.
