Small Business Innovation Research (STTR) & Small Business Technology Transfer (SBTT)

The SBIR and STTR programs fund a diverse portfolio of startups and small businesses across technology areas and markets to stimulate technological innovation, meet Federal research and development (R&D) needs, and increase commercialization to transition R&D into impact. We foster and encourage participation in innovation and entrepreneurship by all people, including women, people of color, people with disabilities, and entrepreneurs located in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
Community Food Projects Grant Program: USDA
Deadline: October 30 |Details here. Seeks to improve food and nutrition security in low-income communities through a food systems approach and social determinants of health framework. Two types of grants are available: Community Food Project grants support the development of projects with a one-time infusion of federal dollars to make such projects self-sustaining. Planning Project grants provide support to complete a plan toward the improvement of community food security.
Community Wildfire Defense Grants - USDA
Full details here. Available to municipalities in amounts up to $10 million. The grants, paid for by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, are intended to help communities to plan for and mitigate the risk created by wildfire. They can help communities in the wildland urban interface restore and maintain landscapes, prepare for wildfire, and improve wildfire response. The grant program prioritizes at-risk communities in areas with high wildfire hazard potential, as well as low-income communities and communities that have experienced a severe disaster.

The Colorado Broadband Office (CBO) will start taking applications for the BEAD funding in 2024 through the Advance Colorado Broadband grant program. Want to be ready? These grants will fund broadband projects that will connect nearly 18,000 unserved Colorado homes to high-speed internet. Learn more.

People for Bikes: Industry Community Grant Program

PeopleForBikes’ Industry Community Grant Program provides funding for projects that make bicycling better in communities across the U.S. Support is provided for bicycle infrastructure projects and targeted initiatives that make it easier and safer for people of all ages and abilities to bike.
Colorado Brownfields Partnership - Community Builders
Through the Colorado Brownfields Partnership, Community Builders offers free support and guidance in planning assistance, capacity building, education, and financial help to communities with unusual properties - so-called “brownfields.” These properties can be cleaned up and repurposed in order to benefit communities and access significant untapped resources. This work comes at a critical time as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act or IIJA creates over $1.5 billion dollars in funding for brownfields clean-up and redevelopment. Adolph Coors Foundation: Youth Development & Adult Job Programming Grants
Deadline: November 1. The Adolph Coors Foundation supports organizations that promote the western values of self-reliance, personal responsibility, and integrity to foster an environment where entrepreneurial spirits flourish. Applications are accepted in the areas of youth and youth development, including mentoring, academic tutoring, character development, leadership, STEM, and financial literacy; adult work programs, including paid on-the-job training, vocational training, and job placement.
