Federal Grant Webinar Hosted by Colorado Senators

Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper are hosting a Federal Grant Webinar to review federal funding opportunities within the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This workshop will bring together representatives from five federal agencies including Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Transportation; Department of Energy, National Telecommunication and Information Administration, and Bureau of Reclamation.

Federal Funding Opportunities


Grants for Arts Projects - National Endowment for the Arts

Deadline: July 6 | Details here. Provides comprehensive and expansive funding opportunities for communities. Applicants may request cost share/matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Designated local arts agencies eligible to subgrant may request from $30,000 to $150,000 for subgranting programs in the Local Arts Agencies discipline. A minimum cost share/match equal to the grant amount is required.


Dept. of Transportation - Pavement Resilience Funding

Deadline: June 26 | Details here. The Department of Transportation (USDOT) announced that they are accepting applications for their Advancing Sustainability and Resiliency in Pavements Program.


Dept. of Transportation - Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-Saving Transportation (PROTECT) Program (IIJA)

Deadline: August 18 | Details here. The PROTECT Discretionary Grant Program provides broad applicant eligibility for all levels of government to be direct recipients of funds. States, MPOs, local governments, and Indian Tribes can apply directly to FHWA. The vision of the PROTECT Discretionary Grant Program is to fund projects that address the climate crisis by improving the resilience of the surface transportation system, including highways, public transportation, ports, and intercity passenger rail. 


Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program Grants – U.S. Dept. of Transportation

Deadline: August 1 | More info here. More than $111 million in grants are available through the

Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program. The program helps carry out projects that reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions and improve habitat connectivity for terrestrial and aquatic species. The funding may be used for construction and non[1]construction projects.

Technical Assistance for Prop 123 Funding

Deadline: June 30 by noon | Details here. Department of Local Affairs. Is your jurisdiction planning to opt in for Prop 123 funding for affordable housing? DOLA is engaging a consulting firm to provide FREE technical assistance to local governments in establishing their baseline and 3% growth commitments. If your jurisdiction needs support understanding your baseline and how to submit your growth commitments to qualify for Prop 123 funds, please sign up with this simple form and provide some details about your current challenges or questions. The number of communities selected for technical assistance will be based on available resources. Communities will be contacted about selection in early to mid-July about scheduling. 


Non-Profit Infrastructure Grant Program

Applications open July 5; Deadline August 31 | More info here. Colorado Dept. of Local Affairs. Funding program is designed for nonprofits in historically-marginalized communities that need help building capacity following the COVID-19 pandemic


Climate Resilience Challenge Funding - Colorado Resiliency Office

Applications open June 30 | Details here. The Climate Resilience Challenge of up to $20M over the next three fiscal years (thru the Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Fund (EIAF) program) will encourage and support local governments to promote and integrate climate resilience projects that capture multiple objectives across climate adaptation and mitigation solutions that holistically address the most high-risk vulnerabilities for the region while advancing inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Technical assistance support is available through DOLA Regional Managers and the Colorado Resiliency Office.  


Main Street LIVE: Livability Investments for Vibrant Economies - DOLA

Applications open June 30 | Details here. All applications will follow regularly planned cycles of the Energy & Mineral Impact Assistance Fund (EIAF) program. Main Street LIVE will fund downtown public infrastructure and facilities. This $17.5 million infusion will reinvest in our downtowns and enhance long-term sustainability, add to the built environment (buildings, streets, infrastructure), attract workforce, and augment other energy and housing projects. The Initiative supports a reduced local match.
