Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Fund
Deadline: September 3. DOLA. More info here. The purpose of the EIAF Program is to assist political subdivisions that are socially and/or economically impacted by the development, processing, or energy conversion of minerals and mineral fuels. Funds come from the state severance tax on energy and mineral production and from a portion of the state's share of royalties paid to the federal government for mining and drilling of minerals and mineral fuels on federally-owned land.
Volunteer Firefighter Pension Program
Deadline: Oct. 31. More info here. This program is designed to help local governments provide a retirement benefit to attract volunteers. All volunteer firefighting entities, which provide a volunteer firefighter pension, are eligible to receive a state match.
Protect Our Neighbors Grants
Deadline: Sept. 18 & Oct. 2. More info here. Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Local public health agencies can apply for a Planning Grant of up to $50,000. These funds can be used to engage consultants, community partners, and finance community engagement efforts such as listening and planning sessions with communities impacted by and at increased risk of COVID-19.
If counties have already engaged with impacted communities, completed needs assessments and planning activities and identified infrastructure needs they may apply for Infrastructure Strengthening Grant. These grants will require local matching funds and can be spent on investments such as technology, community resource coordination, communication activities to increase compliance with the public health orders, funding for community-based partners and cultural brokers, and enhanced prevention and containment efforts.
Charge Ahead Colorado Grants
Deadline: June 11 | More info here. The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) and Colorado Energy Office (CEO) have opened the Charge Ahead Colorado application for electric vehicle charging station funding. Workplaces, multifamily buildings, and tourist destinations are strongly encouraged to apply.
Revitalizing Main Streets Grant Program

Larger Safety Infrastructure Grants - To improve user safety along urban arterials or “main street” corridors, especially for vulnerable users such as pedestrians, bikers, motorcyclists, transit users, elderly adults, and people with disabilities. Safety is worth 30% of the evaluation criteria. More details can be found HERE.

Small Multimodal & Economic Resiliency Projects: To support infrastructure projects that provide improved spaces for mobility, community activities, and economic development in the wake of the COVID-19 emergency. CDOT held two Pre-Application Workshops in April. All potential applicants are encouraged to watch the recording HERE which covers details about both grant opportunities.
Colorado Health Foundation Funding Opportunities
Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant Program
Deadline: July 12 | More info here. Projects for RAISE funding will be evaluated based on merit criteria that include safety, environmental sustainability, quality of life, economic competitiveness, state of good repair, innovation, and partnership.

Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Planning

The funds will support comprehensive planning efforts that increase transit access, help connect communities, improve access to public transportation and affordable housing, and support call to combat climate change, advance environmental justice, and promote equitable delivery of benefits to underserved communities.
The Morgan Stanley Alliance for Children's Mental Health Innovation Awards
Deadline: July 2 | More info here. This initiative aims to identify and fund mental healthcare solutions for children and young adults across the United States. This program specifically addresses the lack of both private and public investment in children’s mental health and of effective ways to connect innovative ideas with capital. The resulting systemic funding gap has only increased with the deepening crisis in children’s mental health due to COVID-19 and ongoing social injustice issues.
USDA Technical Assistance Grants to Improve Rural Transportation Systems
Deadline: June 30 | More info here. Eligible applicants are organizations seeking to provide rural communities with training and technical assistance to improve transportation services and facilities.
Applicants are encouraged to consider projects that provide measurable results in helping rural communities build robust and sustainable economies through strategic investments in infrastructure, partnerships, and innovation.
Union Pacific Foundation: Community Ties Giving Program
Through the Community Ties Giving Program, the Foundation provides Local Grants to nonprofit organizations that address the following categories: Safety, Workforce Development, and Community Spaces. Organizations interested in receiving a grant must complete an online survey to determine eligibility from June 1 through July 31, 2021.
Colorado Creates Grant
