Funding opportunities for electric vehicle planning projects - Webinar on Dec. 6
December 6 | Register here. Colorado Communities for Climate Action and Southwest Energy Efficiency Project are hosting a webinar to discuss new funding opportunities for local governments to pursue electric vehicle infrastructure planning and projects. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law increased the scope of eligible uses of core transportation programs; It also created new programs that can fund electric vehicle projects, including the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure discretionary grant program (launching in late 2022) and the Carbon Reduction Program.
Colorado State Outdoor Recreation Grant
Next deadline: Dec. 31 | More info here. These funds are made available through the Economic Development Administration (EDA) as a part of the American Rescue Plan Act. OREC will be accepting applications for projects related to economic development and recovery in the outdoor recreation sector. Eligible entities include government bodies, nonprofits, colleges/universities, economic development organizations. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with quarterly review deadlines of March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st of each year through 2025 or until all funding is allocated.
GOCO Centennial Program Grant
GOCO is seeking high-value, once-in-a-generation visions and projects that will create lasting impacts on the Centennial State and future generations. They are eager to learn about opportunities in your community, including those that may be several years away. GOCO is currently accepting applications for Centennial project visioning and urgent land acquisitions. For Centennial Capital Projects, please connect with your regional officer about near-term opportunities. USDA Strategic Economic and Community Development Initiative
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development announced that USDA is seeking applications to implement regional economic and community development projects to create thriving communities in rural America. This funding is available under the Strategic Economic and Community Development (SECD) initiative and authorized by the 2018 Farm Bill. Learn more about SECD and this opportunity here.
Microgrids for Community Resilience Grant Program
The CRO is excited to be launching a Microgrids for Community Resilience Grant Program in 2023 in order to build community resilience regarding electric grid disruptions. We are partnering with the Colorado Energy Office and proposing to leverage the initial $3.5M set aside during Colorado's 2022 legislative session for an additional ~$10M in formula funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
Colorado Health Foundation Non-Profit Sabbatical Grant Program
Deadline: Dec. 15 | More info here. The program is designed to award Colorado-based nonprofit executives with a three-to-four month sabbatical, while offering funds for their organization’s interim leadership and staff capacity building. The sabbatical award is made in the form of a grant – up to $100,000 – for charitable support to a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
Colorado Waste Diversion Grant
Deadline: January 5, 2023 | More information here. The Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity (RREO) Program provides funding that promotes economic development through the management of materials that would otherwise be landfilled. Funds are available to support recycling, composting, anaerobic digestion, source reduction, and beneficial use/reuse.
Opioid Infrastructure Share Grants
Deadline: January 13, 2023 | More info here. The Colorado Opioid Abatement Council is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for $2.5 million of the 2022-23 Opioid Infrastructure Share funds. Local governments that participated in the Colorado Opioid MOU and Colorado Opioid Regions are eligible to apply for Infrastructure Share funds to develop the infrastructure necessary to combat the opioid crisis in Colorado.
Local Match Program for Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill Projects
Now open; will remain open until all funds are spent |Apply through DOLA Division of Local Government Online Grants Portal. Through an interagency agreement, the Department of Local Affairs, Office of Economic Development and International Trade, and Governor’s budget office, have created a local match grant program to be used for local governments to support their non-federal match requirement when they apply directly to the federal government for infrastructure funding. In Fiscal Year 2022-23, $6 million will be available to local governments, and additional funds will be allocated in the following fiscal year. The minimum request for local match funds is $250,000.
