FloridaMakes's new statewide award, celebrating Florida’s top manufacturing apprentices will be honored at MakeMore Manufacturing Summit in October.


Apprentice nominees must be enrolled in a registered manufacturing apprenticeship program.

FloridaMakes asks members to participate in Career Academy survey

On behalf of the FloridaMakes Board of Directors, Talent Pipeline Working Group, we want to identify schools that RMAs and manufacturers are actively working with to promote manufacturing careers. This information will be used as a baseline to evaluate our success in reaching out and promoting manufacturing careers to the education system. Your participation is very much appreciated.

Site Visits Create Collaboration

A recent visit with Dee Setzer of Fort Walton Machining, allowed our FloridaMakes Business Advisor, Jolee Martin, to get to know the company better. Including finding out how the company is currently using FLM resources and opportunities. One such opportunity is taking advantage of the Connex National platform. Access to the platform is FREE if you sign up for national participation before June 30.

LandrumHR: Using Process to Improve People Performance

Landrum facilitated a custom 3P (Production, Preparation & Process) design kaizen for a line-time client to simplify a complex situation and training. Doing this decreased errors by 70% and created a significant labor cost savings by improving equipment efficiency. This also allowed Landrum to build a lean foundation to support future growth and improve sustainment. READ WHAT THEY DID

Florida Ready to Work webinar presents workforce readiness program

Florida Ready to Work is introducing an all new soft skills solution to help move Florida’s economy forward by equipping students and job seekers with the employability skills required to take the next step toward technical training, certification, apprenticeship, and employment across industry sectors. The program is implemented in collaboration with the workforce system, school districts, state colleges, technical centers, adult education, juvenile justice, corrections, community-based organizations, and employers.


Those who successfully complete the program earn the Florida Soft Skills Credential. The credential is issued by the State of Florida, signed by the governor and recognized as common measures of employability skill readiness for most all jobs today.


This live session includes a program overview, implementation tips and demonstration of system features including how to enroll participants, monitor participant progress and proctor the assessment.
