Your membership allows us to continue to advocate for the health of our industry. While 2020 was full of unprecedented events, we are thankful for our NWHPBA community. With the help of one another, we were able to support each other and share our successes through tough times.

Renewing your membership is easy and we have a lot of options for your convenience!

-What do you do to separate your business from others? Provide free estimates, fair and competitive pricing, excellent customer service, and additional warranty beyond state recommendation. We are also a general contractor, so we provide ‘one stop shop’ for many customer needs. They don’t have to use multiple vendors for a job, we generally can do it all. We have many years of experience, our workers have been with us for 10+ years.

-What diversifies your business, product wise?  We can get any product that a customer is interested in. We provide a wide range of services and products.

-What are customers telling you when they come in the shop?  After we complete jobs, we hear from customers that they loved our work, our crew was fantastic, and they enjoyed working with us. They will recommend us, and keep us in mind for future work they need.

-What trends do you see the next year?   Continued growth with various types of fireplace installations from wood, propane and gas.

-What got you started in hearth business? I didn’t want to work for others, so decided to start my own business in a needed industry

Yes, I have attended various conventions, and enjoy the networking and meeting other people in the industry.

-What’s your favorite NWHPBA memory? The convention a few years ago in Texas, that was a great convention, and I learned a lot

-What’s your favorite movie?  Avatar and Top Gun

November 18, 2020 EPA Update
Despite HPBA efforts, EPA will not be providing sell-through of any kind for Step 1 products.

HPBA has received official word from the U.S. EPA that they will NOT be providing a sell-through period for Step 1 appliances.

Thank you to everyone who helped us with our advocacy efforts on this issue. EPA made it clear that it was not for lack of effort on our part, just that EPA was delayed during other parts of the process by other agency priorities.

Is there still a donation option?

We asked EPA if they might still allow dealers to donate Step 1 products to non-profits HPBA has been working with to replace older products with EPA-certified units. EPA has told us this would not be possible due to the need to publish a rule change to distinguish between prohibited sales and donations. There is not enough time for EPA to do even this, and the rule change would face opposition that would kill the effort.
What can dealers do now with any remaining Step 1 products?

With no sell-through or a donation option, any Step 1 products remaining can only be recycled or destroyed. They cannot even be given away as the EPA prohibits the transfer of ownership of a Step 1 product after May 15, 2020.

This is extremely disappointing news, especially in light of the second wave of COVID-19 cases impacting families and small businesses. We urge you to share this with your dealer network. More information and updates can be found on our website.

HPBExpo has moved to Louisville in June of 2021!
Mark your calendars: HPBExpo 2021 has been moved to June 23-26th, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky. With the current COVID-19 conditions, the March dates for Expo have been postponed and relocated to Louisville. If you have Expo questions, please email nwhpba@aminc.org .
