Greetings!
The transition into November marks the end of most treatment and programming for ISN. Plans for next year are already well underway and we look forward to sharing what we have scheduled with you in the coming months. That being said, our staff have remained busy!
Directly reached more than 160 people (via site visits, attending conferences, presenting to classes, and public presentations).
Passively reached more than 20,000 people through social media, website visits, and newspaper articles.
Treated more than 40 acres of invasive species throughout Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Manistee counties.
ISN is still looking for hemlock woolly adelgid survey sites for this winter and we are excited to announce that Old Mission Associates, LLC reached a new Achievement Level within the Go Beyond Beauty program. Read on below for more information on both. As always, don't hesitate to contact ISN with any questions or to report a sighting.
Old Mission Associates Reaches Gold Achievement Level Within
Go Beyond Beauty Program
Go Beyond Beauty participant, Old Mission Associates, recently completed an all day, intensive invasive species employee training which allowed them to reach Gold Level Achievement status within the program. In addition to ten staff members participating in this training, they also pay an annual fee to receive more recognition and additional educational opportunities. We salute these local garden professionals for taking additional steps to combat high-priority ornamental invasive species - they are the first to do so in our region!
