UPCOMING INSTALLATIONS
(and there are more to be announced soon!)
Sister Jessica Zimmerle Installation
Saturday, April 13, 3pm at St. John United, Seattle
St. John United Lutheran Church (Seattle) is happy to share that they have called Sister Jessica Zimmerle to serve as Director of Community Engagement. Her role as the congregation's deacon is focused on bridging the church with the broader neighborhood to discern how to best steward their property into the future as a community resource. All are welcome to join for a service of installation with a reception to follow. Rostered ministers are invited to vest and the color of the day is green. God bless this new ministry partnership!
Rev. Joseph Li Installation
Sunday, May 5, 3pm on the UW Campus
More info coming about where to meet and process!
Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Washington is excited to call Pastor Joseph Li to serve as pastor to international students and scholars at UW! Pastor Li has been serving in this role since 2015. In prayerful consultation with the synod, Director for Evangelical Mission Rev. Herb Shao, and the Board of Lutheran Campus Ministry at UW, it was decided that these two student-facing ministries, which have always operated as separate organizations, should come together as one for administrative and program support purposes. Pastor Joseph will move from being a Mission Developer pastor to a permanently called pastor under the Lutheran Campus Ministry umbrella. Pastor Joseph's vital ministry to international students and scholars will continue as a partnership with University Presbyterian's "Global Friends" program. Pastor Joseph Li and Pastor Chelsea Globe, along with the Board, will work together to support each other's campus ministry groups as we provide a Lutheran presence and witness to the UW community.
All are invited to a special installation service on the UW campus to celebrate the coming together of these two ministries! Please join us for a walk around campus and casual reception on campus. We will be outdoors for much of the afternoon, so please be prepared for the weather! Rostered ministers are invited to wear stoles (no albs/robes); color is white/gold/rainbow.
