Note on Possibly Pivoting from In-Person to Remote Events:
The Utica Qualifier has just been changed from in-person to a Remote event. Peekskill has postponed for a month later. Understandably to manage COIVD rates as they continue to rise in certain areas, please be advised that each of our Tournament venues may create new policies as safety concerns for all involved must be considered.. Thank you for being respectful of any difficult decisions our very generous venues and Tournament Committees may need to make.
For planning purposes, make sure any hotel or transportation reservations are cancellable.
In case a venue decides they will not allow a Qualifier to occur on-site, then we will pivot to running it as a Remote qualifier in the week before the current Qualifier date. Especially since we know our Judge Volunteers would be available. We are asking Tournament Directors/venues to let us know 2-3 weeks ahead of a decision like this- if at all possible, so that we can give everyone time to plan and pivot.
This means teams should please be reading the game rules and manuals for remote events- just in case. Basically, alert your teams and parents they should be ready for anything!
