The Department of Financial Services (DFS) set the NY PFL rate and benefit amounts for 2023 as follows:
  • The maximum contribution rate for PFL will be 0.455% of the employee's gross annualized wages capped at the New York State Average Weekly Wage (NYSAWW) of $1,688.19 per week for 2023. 
  • This means the 2023 maximum annual contribution per employee for PFL is $399.43.
  • Employees taking Paid Family Leave receive 67% of their average weekly wage, up to a cap of 67% of the current Statewide Average Weekly Wage (SAWW).
  • This means the 2023 maximum weekly benefit is $1,131.08.
