As part of the One Pace Plaza East renovation, a scheduled power shutdown will take place on Tuesday, November 11, to upgrade the building’s electrical system. Please note that the University will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. This planned shutdown will affect all of One Pace Plaza and may also impact some services in buildings—including residence halls—on Pace’s NYC Campus.
During this time, internet and wireless network access may be unavailable or disrupted in affected areas. Please carefully review the shutdown dates and details below, and check status.pace.edu for any additional outages or updates on IT systems.
Tuesday, November 11| 7:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
- One Pace Plaza: No electrical power, no internet service, heat, or hot water.
Internet and Network Outage
- One Pace Plaza and 41 Park Row will have no internet or network access.
- All systems that rely on the network—including remote desktop—will be offline.
- Wi-Fi will be unavailable in all NYC buildings.
- If you work in One Pace Plaza or 41 Park Row, please work remotely or from another location.
- In other Pace buildings, use a wired connection for internet access.
- Skype chat will be unavailable for all NYC users.
Work and Safety Considerations
This necessary electrical work will cause disruptions. Although the University will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, some employees may be required to work. Staff should consult with their supervisors to determine remote work options or alternative work locations during the power shutdown. Faculty should consult with their department chairpersons if they plan to come to campus during the impacted day. If your role requires you to be on campus, please coordinate with your manager to discuss necessary arrangements.
Dining on Campus
Please note that due to scheduled electrical work affecting wireless networks at One Pace Plaza, Starbucks operations will also be impacted. On days when the wireless network is unavailable, Grubhub orders and payments will not be processed. Transactions will be in-person only via the Starbucks register and Market Kiosk.
We understand that this scheduled power shutdown may cause inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these necessary upgrades. Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to enhance Pace’s campus. If you have any questions or concerns, please visit status.pace.edu for updates or contact Campus Planning and Facilities.
