Volume 12, Issue 11
Dear ,
On this #GivingTuesday, we ask you to please consider donating to NYC-EJA - to help sustain our work combating environmental and climate injustice

Fresh off our 30th Anniversary (see below), we jumped into November activities to continue our march towards climate and environmental justice.
Rally: The Fall of Fossil Fuels, The Rise of Climate Justice
On Saturday, November 13, NYC-EJA called on Governor Hochul and the New York State Legislature to deliver climate justice, including the funding necessary to provide a just transition to a renewable energy economy, for the people of New York. Alongside our NY Renews partners and other allies, we marched to the Governor's office to demand that New York equitably and swiftly implement the state’s climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), and fully fund that law by passing the Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA).

Check out some press coverage of the rally in CBS New York and WABC!
NYC-EJA on Capital Tonight
NYC-EJA's Executive Director, Eddie Bautista, was interviewed by Susan Arbetter on Capital Tonight to discuss NY State's Climate Goals, the Climate Action Council's Climate Justice Working Group, and the negative health effects of climate change.

NYC-EJA Supports a Lead-Free NYC!
On November 24th, NYC-EJA joined Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, NY State Senator Brian Kavanagh, and NYC City Councilmember-elect Christopher Marte among other allies to celebrate the announcement from Senator Schumer that funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework (BIF) will help replace lead service lines in the Lower East Side and beyond.

COMING UP!
CW4A Speaker's Forum
We are in the midst of a global health crisis, jobs crisis, and ever worsening climate crisis. The future of our livelihoods, our communities, and our city is at stake. The next Speaker of the New York City Council must be prepared to follow the leadership of frontline communities to move us towards a just economic and climate recovery.

Climate Works For All will be hosting a Speaker's Candidate Forum in early December. This forum will give New Yorkers an opportunity to hear the next City Council Speaker's plans for racial, economic, and climate justice.
