Hudson River Shoreline: Little Island to The Battery

Join us for a walk along the Hudson River from Little Island to The Battery



The walk is about 4 miles - approx. 2 hours plus time for lunch midway through the walk.. 

 

--GETTING THERE--

Take the 9:00 AM train from Saugatuck to Grand Central Terminal.

Meet on the platform in Saugatuck by the ticket machines

or find your own way to Grand Central. 

Scheduled arrival at Grand Central Terminal is 10:14. 

After a restroom stop, we'll meet by the clock to leave on the walk.

Please tell Warren if you will not be on the train; plan to arrive at the clock by 10:15.


--ABOUT THE WALK--

From Grand Central Terminal we take the subway to 14th Street and Eight Avenue. We will walk down 14th Street to the Hudson River and Little Island. After a quick meander around Little Island, we will head south through Hudson River Park. After lunch on Spring Street at the Ear Inn - a restaurant dating back to 1817 - we will continue through Hudson River Park and Battery Park City to Castle Clinton National Monument in Battery Park.


--RETURN TO CONNECTICUT--

Walk to the Bowling Green subway station and take the uptown #4 or #5 train to Grand Central. Then Metro-North to Westport.
