NYCOMEC 2017-2018 Annual Trainee Program Assessment Now Available to Both AOA and ACGME Programs
The ACGME requires residents and faculty to have the opportunity to evaluate their respective programs confidentially and in writing at least annually [V.C.2.d).(1)]. To assist programs in meeting this requirement, NYCOMEC will disseminate to your residents a confidential survey, analyze the results and provide an aggregated report which allows hospitals to compare their training program with other hospitals' programs within NYCOMEC.
A sample of survey questions can be found here. P
lease email Lynn Mark, D.O. by Tuesday, May 22, 2018, to confirm that your trainees will participate in the survey.

NYCOMEC Hospital Day A Success!
NYCOMEC hosted its Annual Hospital Day on Friday May 4, 2018, on the NYIT-Old Westbury Campus. The event targeted students from NYITCOM, TouroCOM-Harlem Campus, and TouroCOM-Middletown Campus.
Faculty members and current trainees, representing AOA and ACGME programs from NYCOMEC member institutions, spoke to students about their hospitals, training curriculum, benefits, and day to day training experiences. The Hospital Day was well received.
Students said they appreciate recruiting events such as NYCOMEC's Hospital Day which provides them with opportunities to personally connect with program directors, faculty, and trainees currently working at hospitals they are considering for their postdoctoral education.
The Hospital Day was also a great opportunity for program directors to showcase their programs and gain greater understanding of what is important to students who are prospective candidates for training.
