Xcel Energy Rolling Out Two New Commercial Rebate Payment Options

Xcel Energy is rolling out two new rebate payment options for our commercial customers. In addition to checks, we’ll be offering direct deposit and bill credit. Expect these expanded options will be available by the end of March. Payment options are:
  • Paper checks will be mailed to the address listed in the rebate application (unless an alternate address is provided) if the rebate recipient chooses this payment option or are ineligible for other payment options.
  • Bill credits are a great way for customers to reduce their Xcel Energy bills. The rebate amount will be applied to the customer’s Xcel Energy account in the form of a bill credit until the rebate is used in full. Only account holders with active accounts are eligible to have rebate payments applied to their bill as bill credits.
  • Direct deposit is an easy and convenient option for account holders who are enrolled in autopay. Customers who choose direct deposit will receive the rebate into the same bank account from which their autopay is withdrawn each month.
Our online application process will also be changing to include these new payment options. The biggest change you can expect is that we now ask you to choose a rebate crediting method when completing an online application. You’ll see the new payment options listed in step 3 of the application. Please make sure to select a payment option when submitting applications. Hovering over the question marks next to the payment options lets you see the description for each payment method, in case you need a refresher.
