NYECA Safety Topic of the Month-Importance of Proper Laceration Gloves and Tools.

Good Morning,

Based on EESISP data, one of the most common injury occurrences in the construction industry are lacerations from metal or glass. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138 requires employers to select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards.

Selecting the proper rated laceration gloves and tools, not only is a simple solution, but one that can help prevent injuries that can easily be avoided. For more information on the different types of gloves, tools and preventative strategies for hand lacerations, you may check out the following resources.
