NYPCMA Summer Newsletter

Greetings, NYPCMA Members and Industry Colleagues!

Hi, friends!

I hope you are all enjoying the start of summer! It’s been great seeing so many from our community out and about at events acoss the city. If you haven’t had an opportunity to attend one yet, I encourage you to grab a friend and get out there! As I write this I’m on the way home from the Brookyln Bowl Venue Showcase, where our NYPCMA Chapter partnered with so many other great organizations throughout the city to have a fantastic night of music and bowling!

We are so lucky to be able to partner with so many different groups within New York City. I love seeing how all the different sides of our industry interact with one another, and it’s always hugely rewarding to make a new friend (and hopefully a new recruit to NYPCMA!)

We’ve got some super exciting plans for NYPCMA’s Summer Social on July 12th! We are partnering with NYIAEE to bring our communities together for our premier social event! Not only does this help us expand our outreach and increase our networks, but by partnering with similar organizations, we can help reduce our carbon footprint! With the recent wildfire smoke creating an exciting few days in NYC, I’m so proud that our Chapter has been putting event sustainaiblity practices into place!

We also have our NYPCMA vs. MPIGNY softball game coming up this summer! Come join us in Central Park on August 16th and help NYPCMA defend our trophy! It’s a great day with lots of laughs, and we will be having a networking happy hour following the game. All skill levels are encouraged to participate! More details are available on the NYPCMA website.

Lastly, I hope to see some of you at PCMA Educon in Montreal. I’m so excited to be attending my first EduCon, and can’t wait to learn about the latest trends and future technology coming to the events industry!

For those who aren’t already, I encourage you to follow NYPCMA on social media. We have so many fun and exciting social, education and networking events coming up in the next few months, and I’m hoping to see many of you at each of them!

Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you at our next event!

Host a NYPCMA Upcoming Event

NYPCMA is looking for host venues for our upcoming events. It's a great way to showcase your business to the New York Area Chapter. Locations are needed for Education Day on September 28th, and the ACE Awards on November 30th. Contact newyork@pcma.org for more information.

Update from the Corporate and Social Responsibility Committee

Our CSR Committee mission statement is that we are committed to promoting a culture of communal obligation to enhance the quality of life of members of our community by leveraging our chapters’ diverse resources and partnering with organizations whose mission aligns with ours.

In that ideal, we have partnered with local food banks and City Harvest, supported team efforts with Multiple Sclerosis and Healthy Heart walks, and joined forces on Global Meetings Industry Day with other NYC industry organizations to support Feet First and the Water Works program.

Over the last three years we have provided days of service where we have done everything from organizing health and wellness activities like bike riding and walking events, to creating care packages for military battalions in Iraq. We have also organized campaigns that raised funds for the PCMA Foundation by supporting the NY Strong campaign during COVID-19.

In the next few months we will be sharing dates for City Harvest mobile events. We will also start our Road Runners initiative to participate in local runs/walks for our membership. We will be planning our annual December Giving Tuesdays in which we highlight acts of service for our local communities.

Be on the lookout for our CSR table at the upcoming PCMA Summer Social to sign up for upcoming activities.

Save the date!
