NY State Seed Funding Grant Program

The New York State Seed Funding Grant Program (the “Program”) was created to provide assistance to early-stage small businesses to succeed in a recovering New York State economy.

  • Grant amounts up to $25,000
  • Must be a currently viable Micro-business, Small business, or For-profit arts and cultural organization including independent arts contractors that started business on September 1, 2018 or later and has been operational for at least six months before an application is submitted;
  • Eligible Applicants must provide evidence, acceptable to New York State that the Eligible Applicant is operational and meets the Program requirements.
  • Due to a limited amount of funding and the high volume of requests expected, business type, geography and industry may factor into ability to receive a grant.

CARES Grant Program

The Herkimer County CARES Grant Program is now available, with the intent to utilize funding received through NYS Homes and Community Renewal under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help businesses throughout Herkimer County fund a series of activities to prevent the spread of the virus, safely reopen and prepare their businesses for new safety protocols.

SBA Cyber Summit

SBA Will Convene Experts from the Cybersecurity and Business Worlds to Share Best Practices and Practical Tools to Help Small Businesses

Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), announced that the agency will host a free, virtual National Cyber Summit on Oct. 26, 2022. This cybersecurity forum, a first for the agency, will help introduce American small businesses to tools, tips, and resources to bolster their cybersecurity infrastructure in addition to exploring new trends and challenges entrepreneurs are increasingly facing.
