The Theme for National Caregivers Month November 2018 is....SUPERCHARGE YOUR CAREGIVING!
Caregivers are superheroes. Managing medications. Getting to doctor appointments. Balancing work and home. How can family caregivers handle it all? Even superheroes need tools! Thankfully, new caregiving tools can help lighten the load.  Each year, Caregiver Action Network sets the theme for November's National Family Caregivers Month. CAN recently announced that this year's theme will be "Supercharge Your Caregiving."  For a downloadable version of this year's theme, click HERE. Research  Opportunities

The National Alliance for Caregiving, in partnership with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation and ImproveCareNow, is launching a first-of-its-kind survey of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) caregivers. The survey, which is being conducted by researchers from Crimson Research at New Mexico State University, is seeking feedback from family caregivers of children and adults living with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, the two major types of IBD. "Through this survey, we hope to capture the power behind these unpaid friend and family caregivers and to articulate what they are doing so that they can serve as a model for caregivers in other communities," explains C. Grace Whiting, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Caregivng. To take the survey, click  HERE

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance have teamed up to elevate the voices of people living with depression and bipolar in research and therapy development. A first-of-its-kind "Supporting Wellness"  survey invites your perspective on diagnosis, goals for wellness, and what research priorities you recommend based on your personal experiences. The findings from this research will be shared with FDA, research funders, and broadly in the community by the Milken Institute and DBSA. About 7.8 million children across the country live in households headed by grandparents or other relatives. About 2.5 million grandparents report they are responsible for their grandchildren's needs. In about a third of these homes neither of the children's parents are in the home. New York State Grand Facts
