Progress is continuing on a new Coca-Cola distribution center in Halfmoon which will replace an older, smaller location. The project is expected to preserve 147 full-time jobs and add nearly a dozen in the years following its completion. | Read more on the Albany Business Review.

A Taiwan rubber company paid $39 million to purchase the former Sumitomo Rubber USA plant in Tonawanda. Hwa Fong Rubber plans to create 100 to 250 jobs. | See more on Buffalo Business First.

$5 Million in NYPA Funding That Will Prepare More Than 1,000 New Yorkers for Clean Energy Careers


The funding awards will be directed to eight workforce development programs that will equip more than 1,000 New Yorkers with the training, job placement resources, and technical skills needed for careers in the clean energy economy.

NYPA Economic Development Awards to Support Creation of Nearly 400 Jobs, Spur More than $522 Million in Private Capital Investments


The awards, approved by the NYPA Board of Trustees, include low-cost power allocations through the statewide ReCharge NY program and the regional Western New York Hydropower program. Additionally, the NYPA board approved funding awards totaling more than $2.4 million under the Western New York and Northern New York Power Proceeds programs.

Capital Region Winners of Downtown Revitalization Initiative and NY Forward Program Announced


The City of Rensselaer will receive $10 million in funding as the Capital Region winner of the ninth round of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), and the City of Watervliet and the Village of Scotia will each receive $4.5 million as the Capital Region winners of the fourth round of NY Forward.
