Micron Technology is beginning to pour concrete for the first computer-chip manufacturing facility at what the company says will be the nation’s largest semiconductor factory. | See the story on Syracuse.com here.

The village of Ellenville was awarded $4.5 million in grant funding. The funding, awarded for improvements around the village, was part of Round 4 of the NY Forward Program. | News10 has more on the grant award here.

New York State economic development officials unveiled a $5 billion plan to finally complete Atlantic Yards. U.S. Small Business Administration Launches Suppply Chain Acceleration and Logsitics Enablement (SCALE) Program

SBA will award grants of up to $500,000 to eligible organizations to deliver technical assistance and workforce development programs. These efforts will help small businesses overcome operational, technical, and market barriers so they can better participate in strategically important supply chains — including advanced manufacturing, energy, food systems, defense industrial base, biotechnology, and transportation infrastructure.

Eligible organizations can apply via Grants.gov — search for solicitation #SB-OIIGA-26-001.

Fax and Telegram? New York's Archaic Requirements Get an A.I. Overhaul

The effort, called Regulatory Reset, will deploy A.I. to comb though roughly 18 million words of codified statute to find references to fees; signature or notary requirements; fax, mail, telegraph and other outdated technologies; as well as task forces, councils and mandatory reports.

In an executive order, Ms. Hochul will call for state agencies to modernize or eliminate obsolete regulations. As part of the effort, the state already solicited suggestions from agencies and the public and collected more than 4,000 submissions — many of which mention the absurdity of maintaining a fax machine in 2026.

The order calls for state agencies to review the examples found by the A.I. tools, created in collaboration with the civic tech organization Recoding America and Stanford University, to see what rules can be eliminated or modified.
