Take Off New York Assets Available

Design Materials, Icon Contest, and Informational Two Pager

Thank you to everyone who signed up to be a part of the 'Take Off, New York' campaign! With even more refined graphics and a dialed-in message, the campaign is officially available for download.

For those of you who might have missed our official launch (video recording of the launch can be found here), the 'Take Off, New York' campaign highlights an enormous opportunity for our industry. Billions of dollars in visitor spending are tied up in New Yorkers’ unused paid time off. By encouraging employees to use their remaining 2025 PTO to travel within the state NOW, and to plan to use their full PTO benefits in 2026, we can help unlock that economic potential and inspire more exploration of New York’s destinations.

Developed by the team at FourthIdea, 'Take Off, New York' received an enthusiastic response during its preview at the New York State Tourism Excellence Summit. There is no cost to participate, and all campaign assets and informational two pager are now available on our website.

To support your participation, we’ll also be sharing weekly example posts that you’re welcome to copy, customize, or reshare directly from our social channels. Together, we can encourage more New Yorkers to take their well-earned time off—and discover the incredible destinations waiting in their own backyard.

Huge thank you to the team at FourthIdea, who developed and designed the Take Off, New York campaign pro bono to support our industry.

Zoomed In or Zoomed Out: Destination Strategies in Contrast

Gain insights into the impact of local vs. out-of-state visitors

No two destinations are alike, and neither are the strategies that drive results. So how do you identify the approach that’s right for you?

Join us for our next Wednesday Webinar where we will be talking all about destination strategy! Dylan Forsyth from Zartico will share real-world examples of New York destinations using visitor intelligence to guide decisions for both local and out-of-state visitors. Featuring Gina Mintzer, Executive Director of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB, see how one destination leveraged local visitor insights to measure community impact, while another used out-of-state visitor data to inform marketing and investment strategies. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how “zooming in” and “zooming out” can transform your destination strategy. Learn More & Register

⚖️ Advocacy Matters to You

  • The full effect of New York State's Small Plastic Bottle Hospitality Law is taking effect soon. On January 1st of this year, hotels with 50+ rooms may no longer provide personal care products in plastic bottles smaller than 12 oz. Starting January 1, 2026, hotels with fewer than 50 rooms must comply. The law helps reduce single-use plastic waste. DEC helps hotels prepare on their website.
