The first two sessions of the year were, “Impact of Intimate Partner Violence on Parenting” and “Understanding Trauma with Foster Care Involved Youth." NYSPCC will present about Art and Mindfulness Groups at the NASW Annual Conference

Our bi-weekly art and mindfulness groups for children continue to be well attended. This month, our therapists focused on self-care and self-love. Children created self-care jars and positive affirmation flowers that they can reflect on throughout the week. Our Assistant Director of Program Evaluation, Dr. Nicole Lim, has been invited to present on these groups at the National Association for Social Workers (NASW)’s Annual Conference in June 2025. The topic is Preliminary Insights into Emotional Responses to Art Therapy Participation.

Deloitte visits the NYSPCC

The NYSPCC recently hosted Deloitte and their team for a tour of our office and a comprehensive overview of our prevention, treatment, and training programs. We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Deloitte's leadership on our rebranding efforts.

Hidden foster care involves informal arrangements for children to reside with kin.
