NYSPCC Fall Gala Raises Over $925,000 for Children and Families!

Our Fall Gala, held on November 14th at the Rainbow Room, was a spectacular success, raising over $925,000 in support of our prevention and treatment programs! We were delighted to honor Dr. William C. Bell, President and CEO of Casey Family Programs, with the Strength of Our Society Award for his incredible advocacy on behalf of children and families across the country. NYSPCC Clinicians Lead Art Therapy for Children

At a recent session led by NYSPCC clinicians, children participated in a creative art and mindfulness workshop where they wrote personal affirmations on paper, creating a colorful affirmation chain to take home. They also crafted thankful turkeys, expressing gratitude and embracing the power of positivity.

Training Team Empowers Students at Horace Mann


Our Training Team, alongside interns and clinical staff, facilitated over 50 workshops for middle and upper-division students at Horace Mann (grades 6–9). These workshops covered vital topics to educate and empower students on recognizing and reporting sexual abuse, and the feedback from students and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you to everyone who made this initiative a success!

NYSPCC Legal Counsel Testifies on Mandated Reporter Training

This past October, NYSPCC Legal Counsel, Muna Heaven, Esq., testified in Albany on the importance of mandated reporter refresher trainings before the NY Assembly Standing Committee on Children and Families, chaired by Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi.

Harnessing Creativity: Art Therapy Training for Clinical Staff

Our Clinical Team participated in an art therapy training led by Sharon Itkoff Nacache of Co-Create Art Therapy. The training introduced techniques to enhance our bi-weekly children’s art and mindfulness groups while also focusing on self-care practices to reduce stress. We're excited to incorporate these new tools to better support the children and families we serve.

NYSPCC Welcomes Global Leaders from the Supervised Visitation Network (SVN)

The NYSPCC proudly hosted the Supervised Visitation Network's (SVN) Board of Directors for their annual 2-day in-person meeting. This international board, composed of experts in supervised visitation and domestic violence, works to advance the field worldwide. We’re honored to have been SVN members for nearly 20 years, with our own Director of Clinical Services, Samantha Alvarez Benowitz, serving on their board.
