CEO Schomburg Attends Gatherings to Uplift Family Well-Being and Support Services

October was a busy month for NYSPCC's President and CEO, Aysha E. Schomburg, J.D, who participated in three different gatherings aimed at identifying solutions to better support children and families.

Hosted by Casey Family Programs and Livingstone College, the Bridging the Gap event convened national leaders from October 1-3 to discuss the future of foster care, and how communities can come together to create hope and opportunity for families.

On October 6-8, CEO Schomburg joined the Families Rising Adoption and Foster Care Conference to deliver a keynote address titled, "Without Community There is no Liberation: United We Stand." The presentation discussed the meaning of collaboration within adoption and foster care communities and emphasized the value of community building in the lives of people, both nationally and locally.

CEO Schomburg delivered a second keynote address at the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Director of Services Leadership Training Forum from October 14-16. The keynote, titled "Rise: Sustaining Elevated Leadership when Times are Turbulent," highlighted the importance of leaders in the child and family-serving ecosystem remaining confident in their ability to navigate current economic hardships.

Thank you to Casey Family Programs, Livingstone College, Families Rising, and OCFS for facilitating these important discussions!
