"If You Don't Have This in Your School,
You Should!"
If you have not participated or observed a Unified Sports event, you should. Unified Sports is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling ways to give back to your school and your community.

Our friends at Special Olympics New York want to get more schools involved in Unified Sports. They have launched a campaign called “If you don’t have this in your school, you should!”

Please use this link to learn more.

“Unified is more than a sports league – it’s a way of life. Together as teammates in every sense, our Unified athletes and partners are creating school communities where inclusion, tolerance and acceptance of all students is the rule and not the exception.”

The completion of the NYSPHSAA Participation Survey is mandatory for NYSPHSAA member schools.

Please take the time to complete the survey as this information is crucial to the NYSPHSAA, our sports committees and the NFHS. This year, the information is especially important to determine the impact COVID-19 has had on interscholastic athletics.

DEADLINE: MONDAY, JUNE 21, 2021

Use the button below to submit your school's Participation Survey.
What Online Registration Looks Like Today
What is your definition of registration?

Is it tossing papers in a stack? Or, is it a process including collection, verification, and distribution?

Historically, “registration” has been associated with completion of paperwork or online forms.

But registration has evolved. Click here for an article from FinalForms highlighting important factors, features, and concepts in athlete registration.
NYSPHSAA Expanding Lodging for
Fall State Championships
As we navigate through COVID to return to normalcy, the Association plans to fully conduct its state championships for the 2021-22 school year.

One challenge NYSPHSAA is addressing in advance of fall sports getting underway is lodging at state tournaments. Many member schools and sections have indicated they would like to move to double or triple occupancy for their student-athletes while staying at hotels during events (no longer four to a room).

We are asking member sections, schools and coordinators to communicate room block increases now for their section sending teams or individuals to a state tournament. It is necessary to get changes in your typical lodging plans now to ensure teams will have enough rooms before it becomes too late. Member schools may contact the NYSPHSAA Office or Section Office.
Mental Health Instruction and
Curriculum Survey
The Mental Health Association in New York State, Inc. (MHANYS) is committed to supporting the mental health and wellness of youth and families with resources and information, including those available through the School Mental Health Resource & Training Center (Resource Center).

We are very interested in the opinions of educators regarding mental health instruction and curriculum in their schools.

Please take a brief 5-10 minute survey developed as part of our evaluation of the Resource Center project. We are particularly interested in hearing from those who are involved in developing or delivering their schools’ curriculum for mental health instruction.

The survey is voluntary and anonymous, and will remain open until June 15, 2021
Partnership with ezSCRN
NYSPHSAA reminds you of its partnership with ezSCRN, an application that can help track, collect data, report and communicate both COVID-19 cases as well as traumatic brain injuries.

The ezSCRN app is being offered to NYSPHSAA member schools at a discounted rate. Watch the video below for a brief description of the app and more information.

The Association has launched a web page exclusively for the ezSCRN app. You can find all the answers to your questions there. Plus you can sign up for a demonstration as well.
