Good News
  • Firefighters in Binghamton came together last week to help the restaurants in their community that have been impacted by NY on PAUSE. Operation Rescue Main Street resulted in the purchase of $4,000 gift cards from local restaurants trying to stay afloat. "We can't help what's going on in the country, but we can try and help out local businesses that really need us right now. They're our neighbors, they're our friends, and we need to step up and help them. They would do the same for us," Said Firefighter Chris Mallery.   • Attorney General Letitia James and a coalition of 23 additional attorneys general today called for key changes to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). In a letter to Congressional leadership, Attorney General James and the coalition express concern that the program has left many of the hardest hit small businesses across the country underserved.

  • Starting tomorrow, additional streets in Downtown Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens will be opened to pedestrians. This is part of an ongoing plan to provide more open space for people to enjoy the warmer weather while social distancing.
