JOB GROUP & SALARY SCALE:
JG-10 - $55,698- $71,980
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Thorough knowledge of modern methods, materials and equipment as used in greenskeeping and grounds
maintenance of a golf course; thorough knowledge of the recognition and treatment of common grass diseases; through knowledge of the methods of weed and insect control; ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions; ability to get along well with others; good judgment; initiative; resourcefulness; capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A) An associate degree in Horticulture or related field and three (3) years of experience in grounds maintenance activities at a golf course which included the detailed care and upkeep of golf greens; or:
B) Graduate of high school or equivalency diploma and five(5) years of experience in grounds maintenance activities at a golf course; at least two (2) years of which included the detailed care and upkeep of golf greens; or
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Candidate must be New York State Certified as a Commercial Pesticide Applicator at time of appointment; and
2. Possession of a valid New York State Class D (minimum) Driver’s License at the time of appointment and
throughout duration of employment in the position.
Note: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements
